It's difficult to find a good Hong Kong style cafe these days and this is a good one. Good BBQ meats and noodle soup. Their set meals are great value. I would recommend their BBQ roast duck; the beef brisket or beef offal hotpot, and the homemade wonton.

a hidden gem on this side of the city: extremely authentic Hong Kong classic home food dishes. even their takeaway did not disappoint. there was a decent number of guests dining in on a Tues night- plenty of seats (no out door seating). prices were fair given the quality of food was high- eg the dumplings/ seafood balls tasted home made (not factory mass produced), the wantan noodles texture was QQ (appropriately chewy-bouncy), hofan noodles were silky smooth. soup was umami savoury and sweet without any excessive saltiness. the egg waffles were fresh, fluffy on the inside and delicately crispy on the outside (without being hard). i’ll be back to try other dishes. casual ambiance. efficient and professional service. it could possibly rival, if not beat, any other casual style HK cafe eatery in Melbourne!

We had brisket with dry noodle, double boiled melon soup, and lava french toast. The soup and toast were ok but brisket was quite tough, which is surprising because I feel it's a staple in HK restaurants. A little disappointed because I was really missing HK food. Also, minimum $18 per person if you dine in.

So far it’s one of the top list HK-style cafe 茶餐廳 I have visited. I ordered fish ball 手打魚蛋noodle soup、wonton 云吞in soup、prawn dumplings 水餃in soup and BBQ pork take away. Very much appreciated fish ball 手打魚蛋that not so many places to offer. Prawn dumplings taste good but cooked too much. Wontons missed a flavour of 大地魚 which is the soul of wontons. Without it similar taste to prawn dumplings. And I don’t know if it was my mistake or something wrong with ordering website I order wonton and prawn dumplings each 3 pcs before I would order frozen one to take away. But it turned out 2 prawn dumplings. I talked to a few waiters and at the end the restaurant agreed to change the prawn dumplings to wonton for me 😊 I appreciated their services to customers. Will visit again when I miss HK-style food next time and try other dishes offered in the restaurant.

✨HIDDEN HK FOOD CAFE✨ 📍 @foodfactory_atuws Heard really great things about this place and finally had a chance to try it! 😍 We ordered their Braised pork with pickled vegie 🍚 Hainanese 🐔 noodle And was blown away by the quality of the food here! The braised pork was succulent and tender The sauce was full of flavour I could just eat that with rice alone Oh! And the hainanese chicken was so soft and was a such perfect match with the slightly soy sauced noodles Overall a very great place to eat and would ✅ highly recommend it (esp for a late night meal) 👌🏻 Follow me on IG @eatwithmishy for more food reviews and adventures 😉

Food factory is one of the best HK/Cantonese style restaurants in Melbourne CBD. The food is delicious and authentic, portions sizes are good and quite good value for money. The restaurant is set out in a traditional HK cafeteria style. The beef brisket hotpot was hearty, tasty and the meat was really tender. Get in early for the popular roasts!

We ordered three dishes, the crispy pork, the curry beef brisket and fish fillets on rice. The crispy pork was not crispy at all, it was soaked in some sort of sauce. The fish fillets were definitely frozen fish, some of them were undercooked as you can see in the photo. Both these dishes were thrown out because it was just terrible to eat. The last dish, curry beef brisket was very good. Very generous portions of meat and the potatoes were cooked very well. We will definitely not return.
