Easily best breakfast in town - Blows the place next door (Eli's) away. Great food. Decor needs work. Service good. Nice open kitchen is clean (Again - not like Eli's). We did have to walk through a crowd of smokers outside but they were from Eli's to get in. Can't stand that.
LOVE Marie's Cafe!! They have some amazing hummus and their chicken shawarma salad and grilled cheese is unbeatable. The BLT and monte cristo sammies are also phenom. When I'm in the mood for soup the loaded baked potato is just amazing. All of the food is homemade and not microwaved.
Normally we get it for lunch since we work at the square and they're not open late which is a bummer since I can never get my friends to go since we all work during the day. I wish they were open later into the evening. There have been times when the chef isn't in the kitchen (days off I'm guessing) and certain menu items are unavailable. I've never heard of a place doing this and it's pretty annoying when you try to order a monte cristo and apparently only one person is trained to make those.
Otherwise this is a great place to go for Mediterranean inspired food!!
Enjoyable. Very relaxed environment, it. Is a nice to just sit and have some good food and conversation.
Never been disappointed. Please bring back the ultimate grilled cheese!
Love this place. The food and atmosphere are both great! The omelettes and blueberry cornmeal pancakes with the cream cheese in them are to die for yummm
Ultimate grilled cheese is the best sandwich I have ever eaten. Bring friends and clients here all the time. They all LOVE it!!
Extensive menu options. One of the best sandwiches I have ever had, the Ultimate Grilled Cheese. It has tomato, avocado, red onion, cheddar, Swiss, bacon and hot sauce on caramelized 9-grain bread. Amazing!
Hotspot. Marie's comes to the table with a mighty fine menu of thoughtful foods, including several variety of sandwiches done on a number of breads, including a grain and colored breads. There are featured soups, it changes a lot. Always tasty, and usually to do with the season OR. Salads decorate a dominate portion of the menu, and are very hearty. Breakfast all day, from the time they open (Early as 6.00A.M.) and until, the lunchtime spot favorite, is closed (Most Always 3.00P.M.). Also not open on Sunday.
Staff is a joy. I find it to be a grand and fantastic place
I really enjoyed my Eggs Benedict. The smoked ham was thick and flavorful and the hollandaise sauce was housemade. Loved the crunch of fried capers on top. My granddaughter loved her Eggs Benedict Florentine and she kept exclaiming how delicious the spinach tasted. Service was pleasant and the meal was reasonably priced. We'll be back.
Fantastic place for Breakfast! I had the Breakfast Burrito, with potatoes, the Burrito was perfectly grilled and the ingredients were fresh I particularly enjoyed the carmelized onions inside. Sam was our Server she was knowledgeable and friendly with great timing and attention to detail. Will definitely return.
My parents were in town for a visit and wanted to try a local place for breakfast. I'd never been to Marie's before but heard a lot of great things about the place, so I recommend we meet there. I was running a bit late and arrived 20 minutes after they did, but I had told them what to order for me.
By the time I got there, they still hadn't ordered. The place was packed and appeared to only have one waitress. There was plenty of people in the open kitchen, but they didn't seem to be pumping out dishes that quickly. In fact, they didn't look like they were doing much at all.
After ordering, I looked around and noticed that tables weren't being cleared. The reason was obvious. The problem was that more people were still coming in. Apparently, the other locals were forgiving, which said something to me about the place.
Sure enough, the food was great. Definitely, this was one of the better breakfast I've had. It was too bad that the entire visit was nearly 2 hours. They really just needed more help and I'm sure it would have been a better experience. I'm not mad at them, though. The help wanted sign was almost as clearly posted as their specials. I hope to return again soon and maybe they'll have more people working there.
Great food at awesome prices. Laid back and comfy atmosphere. Why is God's name are you closed on Monday? I was just there looking forward to an awesome $6 breakfast. Now my day is ruined. I may need to go see a therapist about this...... oh well. See you guys tomorrow morning.
