Amazing . We will be back. Just saw the ribs and wings. Omg. Best BBQ so far. The brisket was the best outside of Texas we have had so far

Hoskins BBQ is a historic, west Kentucky staple that I have somehow failed to miss over the years. I'm happy to say that's no longer the case.
I stopped in for lunch and found a pretty laid back, straightforward but nice restaurant. You order at the counter, fast food style, and they bring the food to your table. The service was good and fast.
I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and fried okra. Both were amazing. The BBQ follows west KY traditions and was perfect. The fried okra was probably some of the best I've ever had. The coating was different than any other, and it was super crisp and delicious.
Hoskins is a BBQ legend for a reason.

Very 💰 💰 💰. It's a very beautiful restaurant, but I liked the old place better. I don't understand why they offer fish but not as a diner? 3 small pieces and no side. I will say they have a nice drinking cup. Dishwasher safe. They should have a recycling ♻️ 🗑 for them and the straws if you don't plan on bringing them home. Also, it's just a regular BBQ joint.

The chopped pork BBQ sandwich, homemade chips, and fried pickles were all amazing. There are four sauces to pick from: mild, hot, sweet, and Texas style. All the sauces were great! My husband loves the burgoo, which you can't just get anywhere. Pictured is the Reese's cheesecake. Very clean restaurant and all of the staff were super friendly. We will be back!

They run out of different side’s. They put the cold sides in with the hot food. On the to go foods. They don’t put all of the order in with the to go orders. The worst barbecue place that I have ever been at. I tried different times. To give them a chance. I will never go back again.

I would do 3.5 stars if that was an option. The new facility is beautiful and spacious but lacks the homey feel of the original. I was shocked by the order process, which felt remarkably like a fast food experience. The cashier was extremely patient (this was my first trip since the new location) and I was trying to make the most of my visit by getting more than a BBQ sandwich.
After taking 6-7 minutes, we stepped up to counter and were quickly told that most of our choices were not available, even told "we no longer have green beans on the menu" (suggestion-take it off your board).
Finally made our selections, I was told the lemonade was homemade (I didn't see a single lemon in the dispensing canister, and I'm assuming it was homemade by Country Time Lemonade Mix).
Interior is beautiful and I loved some of the decor. Again, seating was spacious and well laid out. Too cold to try the outdoor patio but it looked inviting.
After fixing our own drinks we found a table. Our food was delivered within minutes (cudos for speedy service). Everything we ordered (including my special request for ranch sauce).
Presentation was nice, portions were fabulous. My potato salad was cold, but my house chips and meat were lukewarm.
I liked the variety of options for sauce (4), but only one tickled my tastebuds.
The taste of everything was delicious. I enjoyed my sample platter of brisket, sausage and pork. I would have like to have some bread.
Topped it all off with a lovely lemon icebox pie.
Husband had ribs, fries, and Texas beans. He enjoyed (same lukewarm issue). I did not care for the seasoning on the ribs or the beans.
Meal for 2 was $40+. Seemed a tad on the high side for our area.
I was not a fan of the cups for our drinks. The cute camo was just that- cute. But a sturdier glass would be much preferred.
I was a fan of the new metal platter for serving.
I will try again at a different time of day (and earlier in the week as this seemed to be the reason for being out of several of the side options).
I will definitely purchase BBQ for takout.

Waited a very long time for my food. Went with about 7 other people and everyone was finished or just about finished eating before my food came. When my food finally came out, my order was wrong. Baked beans looked and tasted like they were poured out of a can and heated in the microwave and the cream corn was pretty much some unfresh kernals with cream poured on them. Terrible experience. Gave an extra star due to the chicken being decent.

A little more expensive, …but you get what you pay for. Sliced brisket is pretty amazing, so is the vinegar slaw. Never a bad dessert, comfortable dining area, and friendly staff. Stop, eat and enjoy!
