We had to ask 3 times for a server to come to our table to take our order. The loaded nachos were great. The menu was sparse; much less than listed on their website. Our server was very nice, but they had problems in the kitchen. It took forever to get our food. When we started eating our taco we realized it wasn't what we ordered and had to send it back. Weird taco. Chicken was dark meat. Stuffed with raw cabbage too. Restaurant was much better 2 years ago with the original Salsa Shack owner. Last summer they didn't have a liquor license. I also missed the couches in the waiting area. Liked to order a pitcher of sangria and appetizers if there was a wait.

I wanna start off by saying that i sincerely try to look for the good in all places i visit. this place has a nice decor, outdoor dining and bay side view. dining and staff is another story, allow me to explain: I came here on a whim with my wife and were immediately impressed with the outward appearance. When the hostess went to seat us , i requested if we could be seated by the water (because i like to look at the beach), she told me "no, its for larger parties and reservations". I was confused because i saw a few couples sitting there and nothing about those tables appeared any different from the rest of the restaurant. I said , OK and left it alone. when our waitress came, she was very nice and out of sheer curiosity i asked her if what the hostess told me were true? she said they don't even take reservations unless its an exceptional case of 10+ people. she asked me if i wanted to sit by the water, and moved us over there. I really hate pulling the "race card" but I'm having a really hard time looking for another reason for that outright lie. moving on...the food was quite expensive, we both ordered the steak tacos: there were 3 each order and it was about half of your palm for one. to say the least it was very small and unsatisfying and dry. my wife ordered the mixed dessert with tres leches and ice cream, that was very good. to our surprise a live reggae band started preforming which we very much enjoyed as we both are from Caribbean decent. over all its a cool place by the water with sub par food (Unless we just had a bad night), but it goes to show that employees count and they can really tarnish the reputation of a business. Please note that my review is not based solely on the hostess but the entire experience.

Nice place to go for a drinks and maybe a snack. Service was ok not poor but not great. Very slow at best. Place is always busy but it is for the evening sunset and groups of people that can be lets say loud?!?! Not a must go to out of the way place. Good to stop in if on beach and not busy. I would go to The Landing at Jones Beach which is a 5-10 minutes away at best and much better food at better prices. Not cheap but better. Go after 6:00 PM in summer if you want to avoid paying for parking!!

The restaurant was not busy, took forever to get a waitress and to order drinks. Prices were way too expensive for what was offered on the menu and the food was OK. Waitress kept coming by while still eating but once the meal was finished she forgot about us. We stayed to listen and dance to the Mystics. Great venue for music but wait staff was awful. If we ever go back, it will only be for the band and we will eat before we go

Went there on July 2nd place is very poorly run. The mix drinks were really bad had to send them back. The kitchen messed up 3 of the 4 meals and we never got rice and beans with our meal. The place was empty but still had to wait a half hour for a table cause they are so under staffed and poorly managed. The Manger never came over to the table at all my wife had to go see him. He seemed to hear this all the time. You think a new restaurant that only gets a few months of business would put there best foot forward.

Seriously disappointed in the "new" establishment, bring back the Salsa Shack! The menu got even smaller as did the size of the staff. There wasn't even 25% of the tables being used and they still couldn't handle the amount of people that were there. It seemed like our waitress kept disappearing for lengthy periods of time. The food took forever to come out as well. Reasoning for 2 stars instead of 1? The food that we did eventually receive was good and exactly how we had ordered (although it should've have taken years to make some damn tacos!).

If I could, I would not give them any Stars. Atmosphere is nice, but food is NOT and service is NOT good either! Waited 2 hours for a hamburger!!!! I left without it. As we were leaving the waiter was bringing it to our table. Ugh... NEVER WILL I RETURN!

two works to describe Mango Bay. STAY AWAY! this dining experience had to be the worst of my life. our party of four was seated on the outdoor patio. fifteen minutes late, we had to seek out a waiter to take our drink order. it was the manager who actually came over, offered his apology as to the long wait, and took our drink order. ten minutes later, he returned without our drinks and told us the bar was working on it. drinks finally arrived and we finally got a waiter. he took our order and informed us the kitchen was running very behind. thirty minutes later, our dinner arrived for only three of us. food was cold and missing elements of the meal. we knew to ask for the missing items was absurd as we were sure that would take another thirty minutes. the fourth meal finally arrived and it too was missing elememts listed on the menu. needlesstosay, the entire experience was a disaster. its so sad that a restaurant that could have been wonderful, with views of Tobay and beautiful ocean breezed was poorly managed and understaffed. i don't believe this will change before the end of summer. way too much is wrong. perhaps management will get it right next summer.
