Love it. I don't eat here often, but when I do it's a treat. I love the small, rotating menu selections. Sweet potato pancakes are wonderful. Good selection of coffees (try the blueberry - surprisingly good!). Mushroom soup - yum! Baked goods are fresh, there is a super selection of doughnuts and they are always tasty. Expensive, but tasty. Nobody needs more than one filled doughnut that weighs nearly half a pound, anyway.
I always get the strawberry lemonade and make sure you get a cookie or something baked. Absolutely delicious!
The best around!!! The menu.... The best around!!!
The menu is so creative and everything is made from scratch and many of the items are made of local ingredients. I cannot pick a favorite and have tried almost everything. My son has also been going here since he was a baby and never tire of this amazing food.
You gotta try the almond crunch French toast with the chocolate Swiss almond coffee. The " better than sex cheesecake is absolutely delicious too. I've honestly never had anything here that wasn't good, great bakery
Saturday mornings are fun again. Everytime we go to Mamie's we are so happy with everything. The home-made, size of your face, doughnuts are worth the trip in themselves. But the omelets, breakfast sandwiches, homemade breads take it over the top. The coffee selection and casual atmosphere make this our Saturday morning destination.
Absolutely the best Reuben sandwich I've ever had. Eat that witht a good ice cold glass of mint iced tea. Then finish it off with the best coconut cream pie in the world.
A good friend had taken me here two weeks ago and I was blown away. I took my husband today and he was just as impressed as I was. We like our food and we were shocked at the quantity and quality of the food!! Best food we've had out in years!! The bakery is to die for also!! They are not cheap with any of their ingredients!!! Cafe and bakery!!! You don't mind paying if it's this big and this good. Unfortunately, that is the only downside! Cafe is quite reasonable, but bakery, although the best baked goods we've ever eaten - they know it!! We bought a small pear pie to take home and I was in shock when I saw it cost $12.00!! And donuts are $2.00 each. A piece of cake is $2.00. A couple of cookies in a baggie were $4.50, cinnamon and sticky buns were reasonable - $6.50 for 4 huge ones. They are not frugal with the icing or cinnamon sticky syrup and nuts! If you are willing to pay, you won't be disappointed, but I do have to admit that I told myself that I can make the same thing for free at home, but if you must have it right now, you won't regret the high price. This place is martinsburg's best kept secret!!!
Get yourself to Mamie's!. If you are local or even on a trip through the area you need to visit Mamie's. Open for breakfast Mon-Sat from 6:00 am-11:00 am and lunch from 11:00 am-2:00 pm. Worth the drive to this quaint restaurant. They really do have the best Reuben in Blair County. The grilled chicken salad is my favorite with the fresh cut fries on top. My only complaint is that they crumble crackers on the salad (like croutons?) it's just weird and throws the whole thing off so I order mine without the crackers. Get some of the cinnamon sweet tea for a truly unique taste (she also has mint, regular sweet and unsweet). If you love coconut cream pie, you'll be in heaven for the one you'll find here. They'll cut a pie so you can enjoy a single slice, or you can take a whole one home with you. Mamie's never disappoints!
Big flavor in a small town when I first went to mamie's cafe I was hit with the smell of fresh bake goods and savory food. It is well worth the trip could live in Pittsburgh an I would drive there just for the breakfast
This place is off the hook. Great sandwiches, baked goods, soups. Limited lunch menu that changes daily which keeps it fresh and delightful. An oasis in a place you would never expect to find one.
IF YOU FIND YOURSELF IN MARTINSBURG...BE SURE ITS IN TIME FOR LUNCH OR BREAKFAST!!!
