Aoyama Japanese Steakhouse

I’m leaving a one star review regarding the service. My 2 boys and their friend (all 20 year olds) went to dinner tonight here. Even before they were seated it was obvious that the servers did not want to have these ‘boys’ in their section. They saw the server twice the whole time they were there. Their bill was $98. They gave the servers their cards one of my son was leaving some cash towards the tip and the rest on the card (of course that was AFTER the server told them it was ‘required’ to leave an 18% tip-Which it is not required by state law. Suggested? Maybe but certainly not required) Let me just say, I’ve been a server for 39 years. My kids know the struggles of tipping. The manager and server came up to them and completely EMBARRASSED them by saying they did not tip. The partial tip was WRITTEN ON THE RECEIPT and the rest in cash. My kids ALWAYS tip 25%, even if the service is not up to par, because they know how servers can get overwhelmed or have a bad night. Not to mention one of them works in a restaurant. I find it disgusting that someone would even DEMAND what to leave for a tip, and that young people have to be treated as though they were below your standards. I hope that your children never experience being treated badly because of their age. You lost out on a much better tip than what you were demanding.

Was told I would have to have 2 orders to have hibachi lunch at table .Cook was ok . Food was ok, very small portion for lunch . Slow getting out even when I was the only one there . extra food was just plopped in the container like a pile of mush . Place needs face lift inside .Will NOT go back

SUCH A FUN NIGHT! This was my 1st time at this restaurant. I have been to many Hibachi restaurants. This one was very good Service was excellent. Couldn't have been more attentitive to our group. Super polite. Fast to come out with the sushi and drinks we ordered. The hibachi was delicious. Obviously going to be served hot, but the food was super fresh! Steak and shrimp was what I ordered, and I absolutely suggest the same to anyone that so be coming here CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK! 👌👍

The Chef is not only entertaining, he cooks the BEST Asian cuisine I have had in YEARS! The staff was very hospitable, friendly and fast too. Quality experience that I will indulge in again shortly 👍 we took the kids for their last day of school on a Wednesday. It was packed yet had an awesome meal and fun.....with hard to please teens 😉
