We are fairly new to the area and we've tried a few different restaurants, but Blue Heron Brewpub is by far our favorite! Clean, open, modern industrial inside. It's a taste of the big city in the country! The service was fantastic! Their house beer was a welcomed twist to the same 'ol, with nice flavors for beer lovers, and a large drink menu for everyone's taste! But what impressed us the most, was the menu and the food. Their obvious pride in their food proves itself on the plate and the palate. Careful thought and preparation goes into their dishes. If you want something different, this is the place to come. We tried the crawdaddies for an appetizer. They were light and paired perfectly with a tangy remulade. The seafood chowder was so yummy with just a hint of spice and not too fishy. The black and bleu elk burger was terrific, not dry or gamey. House fries were soft, how we like them. And the Grown-up mac and cheese with bacon was very satisfying. After all the food we ordered because it all sounded good, we had to take some home, and we didn't have room for any homemade desserts, but we cannot wait to come back for more! When we have guests come visit, this is where we will bring them. I'm so happy we discovered Blue Heron Brewpub!
Great casual place to go for a drink, dinner, or to watch the big game! Friendly staff, reasonable prices, and variety in the menu and drink selections. Highly recommend.
We had 4 different beers that were all top notch and well made. The cheese curds were standard but still outstanding with the thin batter instead of the crusty stuff. Chicken bites were like well made white breast chicken nuggets. Only here once but it was a great experience with excellent food and beer. We will be back
I had the Steak Bites and they were fantastic! Will go back and try some of their beers that I saw on the menu as well.
We stopped for drinks and a bite to eat. The cheese curds were really good but a touch salty. We both had burgers and fries which were amazing. I really enjoyed the pint of Wild Badger.
The beer was good. To many malty beers. The pretzel bites were Excellent. Great ground mustard. Beertender was cordial, didn't really smile. Wasn't all that friendly. The brewer? at the end when we were leaving seemed more interested. Yes we aren't locals. Should it matter?
Wednesday afternoon for lunch. The service was pretty bad. A couple tables came in after us we're waited on and got their food before our order was taken. Had to ask three different servers for our bill. One of the drinks that was ordered never showed up. However the food was very good. It may just have been us the other tables seem to have good service overall I would recommend this restaurant if you don't mind waiting a bit.
