La Carreta Mexican Grill

Hadn't eaten here in quite a while. Decided to try them again, and I'm glad we did.The service is awesome, and the food is very well done. Our server recommended some new dishes, and it was a very good choice. Their staff is polite and very on the ball. It is nice to have the same people there in these days where everyone is short-staffed. We will be returning here soon...

I grew up in New Mexico and was critical about Mexican restaurants. I understand that New Mexico is a different place with unique tastes. I first heard about La Carreta when the CNN article went viral. I was so impressed with the owner, because in time of polar opinions, they faced negativity and doubled down with positivity. I lived in Oregon at the time and ordered stickers and masks and gave them out at Christmas. When my husband and I were heading through the mid west, I made sure we ate at La Carreta in Iowa. We stayed at the Buzzed Bee Meadery close by and had the most amazing experience in Iowa. My husband was so happily satisfied with his dinner as was I. The Mead was amazing. Very nice memory.

Such a great restaurant!! They have a huge menu with many vegetarian and vegan options as well. I’m used to only having 1-2 options at a restaurant, but I got overwhelmed with the number of vegetarian options on the menu! (It’s a good problem to have!) All of the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The portion sizes are huge, so I had enough for two meals. I just wish the potatoes in my enchiladas had some spices, otherwise it was a great stop!

Best Mexican food I have had in the US. I have worked in the Mexico and always loved the food but this place is amazing! This is a nice but simple restaurant. Prices are very good. The salsa is likely the best I have ever had. Had the pastor chimi- very good! Very friendly professional wait staff. THIS IS A DO NOT MISS!

Probably the best Mexican restaurant in town. Nothing spectacular, the food is "ok" but at least they get your order right and the prices are in line with the food. You can easily do a lot worse almost everywhere else in town. Giving them 4 stars for three star food because nobody else seems to know what decent food tastes like.
