The Ox is a very nice place to grab a hamburger with a cider or a glass of wine.(no cork fee). I purchased a chicken sandwich to bring home for my husband. He said it was “great”! You must try the sandwich’s with the in house smoked bacon!!

Service was excellent.
Visited on the 4th of July. We ordered a burger and the fried chicken on a bun and shared an order of fries. We loved the Chicken and the fries. The burger was disappointing as it reminded me of an old Wendy's commercial "where's the B...". Staff was very pleasant and the place was busy with customers. It seems to have a following. If I return, I will just order the chicken again.

Fresh, juicy, & tasty. So good I sometimes catch myself daydreaming about this burger..
To top it off, The Whole Ox is also a butcher shop with local wines/beers/foods/treats. A must try if you have never been and a must go back if you have!
They make the best burger in Virginia, hands down. The people that run the place are friendly and their meat is unbeatable. If you haven't been here already, make it your first stop.

I was here last year, and I didn't get a chance to write a review. I now live closer, and I'm excited to be able to try their cooked foods and fresh meats. These ladies are amazing.
Stopped by on a whim last night and grabbed a tub of their Sausage & Kale soup. I wish I had bought a 5-gallon bucket of it and could live off it for the next week. So damn good. Kudos to the chef. Eating the chili right now, too, which is great, but it's not the Sausage & Kale, which is amazing.
