If you feel a cold coming on, or just need some serious comfort food, get yourself a bowl of their chicken noodle soup. Matzo ball optional, but recommended.
Was looking forward to getting a great sandwich and cup of soup for my trip home. Our whole family put in a good size to go order. By the time the food got to us at home, the soup (tomato basil) was still a good temperature and so yummy! It did NOT disappoint! However, they forgot my half sandwich with our order. My Mom called right away and told them we were missing it. And with great surprise, they asked where we lived and said they would deliver it to us! And we don’t live just around the corner (about 20 mile drive round trip). So what customer service!!!! The sandwiches were all pretty good and a great size, mine had a little too much Russian dressing, but I would try it again! And they even threw in a piece of cheesecake. :). Thanks for taking care of your customer New York Deli. We see you care so we will definitely be coming back!
Love the New York Deli! They have the best soups, and the salads are superb. Cubans and Russian Snowshoe sandwiches are great, too! Don’t forget to grab some of the homemade baked goods, by FAR the yummiest carrot cake I’ve ever eaten.
I was really surprised to find a very good tongue sandwich in Marquette, on good, chewy rye bread. Ordered coffee, was offered a glass for water and was brought a small carafe of coffee. Prices are high by Marquette standards, but so is the quality of the food. I think they are quite reasonable.

Amazing service. Wonderful food! Their soups are amazing especially their cream based soup. I have never had a soup from there I did not like. Their Sunny Delight Salad is to die for as well!
The New York Deli has a great variety of sandwiches, both hot and cold. They have great soup and other specials too. The ingredients are fresh and their service is quick. We got our food to go and they packed everything we needed for the meal.
Their sandwiches are amazing and their soups are to die for. They make the best grilled cheese in town. You can tell that everyone behind the counter there loves what they do.
With the recent remodel, it's a beautiful place to sit, grab a quick bite, and watch the traffic go by.
Their cream of tomato soup is my favorite soup in town. It's creamy and sweet, not tart, and not over buttery or too rich. Their little baguettes that come with it are also great. I've been going there a few times a year for over a decade and I've never bothered to get anything else off the menu, so that's all the review I can offer.
New York Deli has no right existing in Marquette. By that, I mean it's way too good. Their portions are enormous and most definitely justify the prices. You can call ahead and pick up your order at the drive thru, or stop inside and wait maybe 7 minutes for your food to be assembled. I have nothing to complain about and couldn't possibly think of any suggestions for improvement. They truly are one of a kind.
One of my favorite places for lunch. The soups are wonderful. Try the Tomato Basil. My husband and I usually get one sandwich and split it. The soups come with a fresh, hot sourdough roll, and the sandwiches, which are made right in front of you, are paired with cole slaw and a dill pickle spear.
