Jay's Thai

Marion has very few restaurants that aren't chains or fast-food. Out of those few, Jay's is at the top of my list. The atmosphere is quiet and casual, the food was hot, fresh, and ridiculously cheap for the portions. The service was great as well, our server was attentive and informative. This is truly a hidden gem in Marion. Skip Panda Express, sit down at Jay's, you won't regret it.

The food is great, nice prices and portions. Our server took our order and gave good suggestions, but then she never came back after that to check on us. She said that if our dishes weren’t spicy enough she would bring more sauce but never checked in and asked about it. We needed more water and she never stopped by once despite seeing her wait on other tables. The taller waitress went out of her way and made sure to get us boxes so we greatly appreciated that. All the people were super friendly but it’s server 101 to make sure your table is doing well.

Formerly one of the best restaurants in Marion, our family used to eat here once a week for years. Suffered a decrease in quality with a change in ownership. Now, the owners are planning a shift from being a public-facing restaurant to a Christian, Private Membership Association that serves exclusively members. They will present the change initially as a sort of reward or punch-card system, but a perusal of the lengthy paperwork associated to this change proves things to be a bit more exclusionary. Don’t play into this backward attempt to lurch toward exclusion. Spend your money with a local BUSINESS that serves our COMMUNITY and not just its ring of like-minded friends and associates.
