Trio Grille

We weren't expecting much when we found it was attached to a bowling alley, and almost went elsewhere, but I'm glad we gave it a shot. The patio seating was perfect for such a nice day, the service was attentive, and the food was top notch and plentiful. It would be easy to miss this place, but if you seek it out, you won't be sorry.

Tried this place for the first time and was definitely not impressed. The menu is odd for the location. We waited a long time for our waitress to even give us drinks, for which she did apologize. Then my husband was served a burger so rare it was still cold. It was remade and we received yet another apology from the waitress. Personally, If someone bites into completely raw meat in your restaurant, the manager should address the situation, not the waitress. But no manager ever bothered to come over. It's ok. We won't be returning. That raw ground beef patty was a complete turn off. On the plus side, the fries were good. Veggies were cut fresh.

Trio Grille in Marengo is connected to a bowling alley and someplace I never would have found, but is certainly worth looking for. An innovative menu, a modern look, and a Friday fish diner that was outstanding. The staff was attentive, pricing very reasonable and portions were perfect. If you're in the mood for all you can eat and enjoy a grease coma, this may not be the best choice. If you're in the mood for a good meal in a well designed space that's affordable, this is the place. Outdoor seating looked fresh and comfortable but it was raining the evening we were there.
