Lil & Gene's Restaurant

I feel as if this review will be an ode to Lil & Gene’s Restaurant... If you’re reading this post 12/23, it’s too late 😢 The restaurant has closed for good but will be fondly remembered by the regular patrons who supported the restaurant over the years. Though I’ve lived in FL for 20 years, I’m from RI and this was one of my favorite breakfast joints. Whether going there after Sunday mass as a child to skipping class in high school and driving over with friends, this was the place we went for breakfast—giant helpings of delicious food. And, as timely as it was, I had to visit my home state for a sudden loss in the family, but my Mom and I went to eat here one final time before the service. It was as good as I remember, and will cherish the memories of not only that day, but many, many others from my younger years. Many thanks to the owners both past and present who made Lil & Gene’s a critical part of the cultural landscape of Manville, RI!
