Waffle House

My first experience at a Waffle House! Not bad!!! Our server was quick and efficient. My hubby ordered the sausage grit bowl w added bacon and extra cheese. His standard when he stops at a WH. I got biscuits and gravy! Delicious!! The whole staff was kind enough to let me take their picture even though they were really busy. Hopefully all their sister sites are as good as this one!

Stopped in for a break from an 8 hr road trip back to Florida. When I walked in, all tables were empty and I was the only customer, but there was a gentleman that walked in a few mins after me. The waitress that came up to the table a couple mins after I walked in, asked what I would like to drink, and then if I knew what I wanted. I gave her my order, Chicken sandwich plate, scattered, covered and chunked, no tomato with the sandwich. She asked if wanted the chicken melt, and I said no, the regular chicken sandwich, no tomato. She then asked the grill operator if he heard me, and he said yes, so she began writing the ticket. She placed the napkin and silverware on the table, and then asked “You said sweet tea, right?” I told her no, it was a sprite, and then she asked if I wanted everything for the chicken sandwich. I told her the only thing I didn’t want was the tomato, and then she kept asked about each item - lettuce, pickles, tomato(again), and mayo. I then asked about adding a waffle to the order and she yes, and told the grill op again, and he acknowledged. All of this happened in the span of maybe 5 mins. A few mins later, I receive my plate, chunks of ham on top of the cheese, instead of under the hash browns like normal. The waffle also was never dropped. She reminded the grill op again, and he said oops, he forgot to drop it. He got called to the back, and came back a couple mins later, and still never dropped the waffle. I finished almost my entire sandwich and has browns before the waffle finally got dropped. When I reached over to grab a couple napkins, the top of the holder had syrup on top that had never been wiped off. When the waffle finally came out, it was not allowed to cook fully, and was still very soft, instead of being more firm like it should be. I do understand when a shift if extremely busy, or if it was steady and she might have been the only one waiting on the place, but the sign on the store states to please be kind to the staff that showed up to serve you. That doesn’t give the staff the go ahead with a lack of effort with doing their job properly. Bad days happen, I used to manage a Waffle House 20 years ago, but this was just piss poor effort and lack of pride in the job you’re doing.

DONT STOP HERE ...WE WERE REFUSED SERVICE!! We just pulled in after a long drive...and there's no one here!!! We were told that they're too busy and short staffed. We couldn't eat and they made us leave, as you can see from the photos that there's no one there ...they're not too busy... they're just too lazy and didn't want to serve us.

We arrived at about 10:20 pm on a Saturday night. At first we thought they were closed as we could see the staffing cleaning inside. Went in, sat at the counter. The dining area was spotless. The interaction with the staff was great. A new employee was being trained to take our order, but had support near by. Our food was delivered to the counter in a good time. The cook who prepared our food asked us twice if everything was okay. The staff seemed to be motivated, having fun while not being distracted from their primary roles of serving guests. Definitely worth going out of the way to stop by at.

Walked in at 3:30am 4/10. The place was covered in dirty dishes. Every table was filled with dirty dishes. The bar was covered in dirty dishes and garbage. The crew said "take out only" while sipping on their drinks. They must be on strike or something. Because not a single one of the 5 employees was even moving to start cleaning the mess. Of course we left.
