We came to town planning to eat elsewhere, but noticed Wheatys and opted to eat there instead. We were not disappointed and this is probably my favorite restaurant in Manistique now. The wings are excellent, absolutely massive (I cannot remember having wings this big) and great flavor. Price is on point and very reasonable at $15 for 7 heavily sauced massive wings (and you can add fries for $2). We split sirloin nachos as well which were great and also a great price at $12 for a generous amount of nachos.

We were here 8/14 around 5 o'clock. Jessica was our bartender. She was friendly and efficient. I had wings and my wife had a burger and fries. All food came off the grill right beside us quickly and was good, the burger above average as well as the wings. The wings are nice size (so was the burger) with some good dripping sauces. The place had around 5-6 people at the bar and a couple of tables full when we walked in. That didn't last long as the place started filling up around 5:30-6. The beer was cold a reasonably priced, $3.50. I liked the atmosphere of a local bar with simple local touches. I have to mention the young lady "manning" the grill and deep fried. She did a great job keeping up with the crowd as it went from 10 mostly drinking to about 25 mostly ordering food and drinking. Great job, would recommend this place to others for a good burger/wings and cold beer with pleasant hosts.

First time visiting here, decided on this place based on rave online reviews of food & service. Had my sister peek inside before taking "mature folks" (Mom & MIL) inside with us...lol! They were RIGHT! Trish greeted us upon entry, let us choose where to sit, was super friendly & thorough w/ our order & I gotta say, "Compliments to the Chef!". All 4 of our meals and the Onion Ring Appetizer were delicious! Not one complaint! It was definitely a bar, but their food could be served in ANY great restaurant! Meals were the burger w/ everything, Shrimp Po-Boy Sandwich, Grilled Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwhich & Fish n Chips (fries). Nothing was overly seasoned leaving room for our own level of seasoning, & all were prepared just as we asked. Also enjoyed a (local) Lite Beer recommended by Trish. One of the best burgers I've ever had!! Was so great! Thank you guys for an awesome meal! Wish we lived closer!

Casey was the bartender and she was awesome. We sat at the bar and the service and the drinks were great. I wish she could be my bartender everywhere.

So good. We had already eaten so we cannot comment on food. BUT the drinks were good and the bartender Casey (not sure how she spells it) was amazing!!! Literally made our night! She was very attentive and so kind and funny! We enjoyed it so much!

My goodness. A gem in the North. I am sure other small places in the area are good, but driving through Manistique, we stopped and walked around. Eventually deciding to go to Wheaty's. The wings were very good, or more so the sauce. The wait staff were super friendly and chatted a bit at the table. Gave us tips for the area. It's nice to see modern 'pubs' making it work. Nice staff. Food was normal good and a bar/pub atmosphere. Nice stop.

I've traveled the U.S from Massachusetts to Florida. Michigan to Texas. Washington State to Arizona. I will personally say this was one of my favorite bars with the best bartender, Casey (spelling?) I have a soft spot for small local bars; but Casey was more attentive, friendly, and welcoming than a flair bartenders in Vegas! The moment we walked in she made us feel like a friend she hadn't seen in ages! She had suggestions and alternatives if someone didn't like an ingredient in a drink. She mixed crazy requests and provided creative parallel solutions. When I open my own Brewery in the south, I will totally try to snipe her talents and bring her with me, Haha! Just go and have a good time! (Unfortunately didn't eat, so I cannot comment as strongly on the food)

Chose this place out of 4 options. Great decision. We each had a basket of 7 enormous wings. One basket was a plum tai sauce which was much hotter than expected. Service was mint! Liked the pub atmosphere.

Thought we'd try this place after reading the on line reviews as we were new in town visiting some friends and we were not disappointed!!! Excellent service, great food, we had the wings and pita chips. Highly recommend stopping in
