La Carreta

Went tonight and sat for 20 minutes without anyone coming to our table..... besides bring chips and salsa when we first sat down. Staff kept looking at us from a far but never came to the table.... they would go to the tables next to us. So we just got up and left and went somewhere else. Used to love going here.... the past few times not so much.

Came to Carretas for Margaritas, we always order the house Margaritas, but they just tasted different. Normally they are good but we found out they were premixed. They just didn't taste good so we ordered the Organic Margaritas, what a difference!! But that's where they get you, they are premixed so you will be disappointed and then you end up ordering the Organic which cost more because they are made fresh. We had a nice time sitting outside on the patio, the weather was nice and the wait staff was very helpful. Bring back the house Margaritas but have a different person make the mix, might make a difference in your revenue.

Oh my! Hola Frida hit the spot! This sweet passion fruit margarita was so refreshing! The tinga (shredded chicken) flautas were tasty (not bland). Also ordered taco salad with steak. The tender cuts of fajita steak were seasoned just right. Our server was so pleasant, attentive and polite! Definitely recommend!!

I've still yet to find an actually good Mexican food place here in Mandeville area and tried quite a few. It's basic tex-mex food that's been even more americanized. If you need a craving to fill, this is the best I've found so far but in no way is anything authentic Mexican food. They also forgot multiple things on our to go order and even forgot to put the dressing on the salad. Very disappointing
