Whole lobster + linguine = the whole lobster was a little old but the lobster meat in the pasta was great.
Black Mussels = superb, fresh and white wine broth was delicious

We made reservations based on a Google search as we were driving through Malibu on our way to Ventura County and we are so happy we found this great location. I was thrilled there was an affordable valet, but the Valet was amazing, friendly and funny. We asked for the best seat available for 2 and they delivered, we had a great view of the sunset from the 2nd floor. Our food was good, but my daughter and I are still talking about how wonderful the Affogato's were.

Fantastic food, reasonable prices and fabulous service. When making reservations, I hade noted that it was for a birthday. After the dinner, the staff surprised us with a birthday desert with candles. 1st time there and definitely will be going back. The calamari and seafood linguini was the best.
We’ll worth it… be sure to reserve table 30 min before sunset. This will give you time to take pictures during your appetizer and drink. After dinner you may be feeling too bloated.
Four of us ordered 4 appetizers, 2 drinks and 4 entrees for approx 300 including tip. Very reasonable for quality and ambiance.

For first timers, don't expect too much. It's a small place. Surrounding is very nice. Expect an ambience that makes u feel like you're in a garden. Hardly any view of the ocean. I think you can explore this place in less than an hour unless you spend time checking out the art work. If you've never been, definitely check it out. If you don't want to spend a lot, don't eat there. Our meal consisted of a salad, burger and hummus. I got a coke and a beer. It costs us about $100. So yeah, pricey indeed.

It was a wonderful evening at Sunset. Had a wonderful sunset. The Tacos where good. The food is average but deliscious, clean, amazing service. We had a special Birthday time and wonderful moments. Would recommend.

We visited The Sunset on the last night of our honeymoon and it was excellent. The entire staff made our experience so special between the congratulatory champagne they brought to our table, their kind words and the dessert to finish the evening. Our server Diana was so pleasant and attentive and the hosts / manager/ owner were all so friendly and welcoming. The cocktails were delicious and so was the food, and cannot forget to mention the incredible views and just a great overall atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this place.

A great way to end the evening, but you better go early for parking, there is parking inside ($10) , but it full, do we drove into the parking for pt dume ($3, free after 830pm) and walk a few hundred yards to the restaurant, it was an enjoyable walk. Their is starting outside, they do have heat lamps, prices are high, as expected due to the location, but the atmosphere was great.

I had a fantastic dining experience at Sunset Restaurant on a busy Friday evening around 6 o'clock. The host Justine efficiently managed the chaos and was incredibly sweet. My waitress, Diana, was warm and kind despite the rush hour. The servers were quick and friendly. I ordered the wagyu burger, which was incredibly tasty. Overall, it's a great beachfront restaurant to enjoy a meal.
