Not great, but a change of pace. No entrees, it's all buffet and salad bar. Think Ponderosa, with less selection and slightly better food. Serve yourself, and wait ages for a waitress to bring forth your refill. Might as well make the drinks self serve as well. Fried chicken and fish are staples, with roast beef and other dishes rotating. You'll get a better deal at lunch, as dinner costs more for the same. Friday night is seafood, and you have the option of buying overpriced ala-carte crab legs. Pass on those. Stop at Kroger and make them yourself, it's not hard and you'll get more. Saturday finds prime rib with carving stations at a higher price, as does Sunday. Friday night, Saturday and Sunday all cost more than W-F lunch, with Wed-Thur dinner costing slightly more than lunch, but less than weekend. I'd skip the weekend price hikes unless they run a coupon in the paper or send out an email special (they have an email club, and it's usually buy one, get one, drinks not included). I would recommend this as a place to go for Easter, Thanksgiving, Mother's Day and the like. They do take the work out of making a huge dinner with satisfactory, traditional offerings.
Great, friendly staff. If you're looking for a buffet style, home cooked meal, look no further. It was all very good from the chicken to the mashed potatoes. Great sweet tea too. Reasonably priced as well.
The food is always wonderful. They could use more dessert options, and the decore could definitely use an upgrade. The food makes up for all the negative. Have I mentioned the great home cooked food? Thanksgiving is always a big hit, you can't beat the smoked turkey.
Prime rib Saturday night is amazing, so many superb selections. If you've never been, imagine it as a place people complain aren't around anymore. All the classic items that you wish you learned to make from Grandma, including some seriously wonderful fried chicken and perfect side dishes. But that prime rib, though!!! With real deal horseradish. You won't get better comfort food without a time machine! The staff is great, too, and give you first class service during your whole visit. I gladly drive the 108 miles from home to visit The Pines!!
Almost always the best food but on this visit the ribs tasted precooked and then over cooked when adding bbq sauce. The chicken was amazing and the two curvy sisters and mom that work there gave the best service and hospitality ever. Truly southern charm and team work was brought to our table time and time again. Thanks gals!
Really good for a buffet. The best salad bar I have ever seen. Granted they didnt have Cesar dressing but I can settle with ranch. Alot of home style good flavored food. Nice atmosphere, friendly service and great price for what you get. Family friendly. If you are hungry and dont know what you want, go here. They have things you havnt tried before and your favorites in the same place.
