Pizza Di Roma West

Alright folks. I travel, a lot. During my travels and when I even get a chance to get away on vacation with my family, I always try to find a NY type of pie that reminds me of NY. When I was young we used to visit our family there, and I was taught how to eat pizza correctly! By folding it!! Friends, this place is legit! I live in Chicago and can not find a NY type of place such as this. Probably the best NY pizza in the midwest!! For-get-about-it if you like to use a fork and/or not taco it over twice! But seriously, this was a great pizza, check their online specials. My pizza arrived hot and fast, it was massive in size, plenty of toppings, and tasted great. I ordered a pepperoni and it had a tad bit of spice/hot, and half sausage that was sliced from true large sausages, not crumbles. I would order here again and you should too, it will not disappoint.

My husband and I ordered delivery figuring we'd try something new. The driver was very nice and dropped it off on the porch as requested. The pizza though was sadly disappointing. There was not much sauce, so the pizza was dry, and the garlic cheese bread tasted like raw garlic. Even the sauce that came with the cheese bread had minimal flavor.

Absolutely love this pizza. Hasn't realized until earlier tonight that the west side location existed (got through some lean college years a slice at a time downtown), and I was cautiously optimistic ordering carryout for the family. The location is a bit odd, and doesn't seem like it'd draw much traffic, but my youngest and I were amazed at how nice the location looked on the inside (yet another "if not for COVID" moment). He was astonished by the size of the box the 20 inch pizza came in (I was more impressed that the prices were still extremely reasonable). He proudly walked it in from the garage, presented it to the rest of the family, and when we got to eating it was absolutely marvelous. My eldest learned how to fold a New York slice , my wife and I waxed nostalgic about how much of it we'd eaten while dating, and we all ate far more than we meant to (and still have leftovers to boot) My wife loves a bit of hyperbole (and I can't vouch for her comment having never been there myself) but she swore it was better than any pizza she had in New York. Take that for what it's worth, but we'll be regular customers from here on out. Love this pizza.
