Koi Sushi

Fantastic experience at Koi Sushi. It was our first time. The best scallop sushi I have had in my life. Also the sweetest shrimp sushi I have ever had. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Quick service. Truly an oasis in Madison. I cannot recommend this place enough. Halfway through your evening here you will already be planning your next visit. Date night. Celebration. Love Japanese food to the moon and back!!

Wish I could give negative stars. Ginger chicken was 50% bones and bone shards. Almost chipped a tooth multiple times. It was terribly prepared overall. After picking out what I could, I threw the rest away. Never eating here again. (Original review was in 2019, its possible the place have improved but I'm still not eating there again)

I've only had Hunan food at that place and it's amazing to me every single time. My friend who's half Hunan isn't really satisfied but it's good enough for me to get Chinese food in Madison. I think it's the best one on State Street, even tho it's probably mid tier in China. They have the correct seasoning, smells right and tastes right too. And I heard that the boss is from Hunan as well! I honestly hope their business can last. 酸豆角炒肉末太好吃了请问酸豆角卖吗呜呜呜

I am a Chinese born in the Hunan area. Last time I went there, I ordered an "Hunan style Taro steamed w/Ribs #113", but almost 1 hour later they brought me a "Ribs fried w/ pepper". I told them they might have brought me the wrong dish. The waiter returned in 5 mins with this mixture of pepper, rib and taro. The taro was not even fully covered with sauce. They just added taro to the wrong dish. I tried to talk to the waiter. However, he replied "It was the kitchen's matter, we have no control over that". I did not get a second chance talk to any waiter since then. After waiting for an hour and a half, they brought me nothing but the rib. At last, the owner of the restaurant did not require a payment and let me and my friends go. It is a new restaurant, but this can not be an excuse for its terrible food quality and service.
