Lots of college students come here for their sushi deal. I used to come here when I was an undergrad because it was the only affordable sushi. I haven’t been on campus for awhile and decide to a take out. Sushi is really bland. They didn’t really put vinegar on rice like you’re supposed to. Typically without soy sauce and wasabi, I can still taste the fish’s sweetness but I really can’t taste anything. I got their Boston roll that came with diluted mayo sauce. I also got eel avocado rolls, this is my favorite sushi in general & I felt like I ate mostly avocado and eel sauce. Just a slightly thin piece of eel. And I also got shrimp tempera, spicy salmon, and tuna avocado. This is not my favorite sushi place but it’s definitely an affordable one if you’re looking for a deal. I’m still giving 4 star because of the deal and quickness but You get what you pay for.

Tiny sushi store but get a lot of goodies dish..really good deal big portion ... staff are friendly...clean facilities.
Love they thick salmon sashimi you can order only salmon just add more $3, I totally love it!
Salmon on rice also big portion actually a lot of rice but still good deal.
Miso soup is good not too salty and have a lot of seaweed and tofu.
Fast serve but if you go on dinner you need to be patient a little but not too long.
I visited them 2times already!

I order from Sushi Express almost weekly. The prices are incredible for how much sushi you get, plus I’ve never had a bad experience with the actual food. The people are sweet and really fast, plus delivery (at least local, around downtown) is always fast. Love love LOVE this place!
Great! Pretty much everything is as we hoped. Just ordered some gyoza and a few things of sushi and got it 20 mins earlier than expected. Prices were fair, delivery was accurate and painless. 5 stars if sushi was ever so slightly larger.
I have tried most of all the appetizers and have sampled the alaska roll. Hands down, this is the best sushi place in madison when it comes to quantity and quality.
Not only are the portions larger, just about everything costs less than surrounding restaurants that have similar food. Thats a rare win-win scenario.

I've probably eaten at Sushi Express nearly 100 times in the past 6 years, and I've never been disappointed. When it comes to mid-low range priced sushi, you CANNOT do better than Sushi Express. The quality is LEAGUES better than any of the other mid-low range priced sushi places, and they've got a good amount of variety on the menu, too. Those who will try to compare it to the likes of expensive places like Sushi Red and Sushi Muramoto will be disappointed, but again, you have to remember, you're paying top dollar for those places for a reason. Sushi Express is a wonderful choice if you're looking for a tasty meal without blowing the budget.
