My friend and I visited Magolias, first for drinks, then ultimately for food. While there are other bars in town, we both enjoyed the atmosphere of Magnolias. I adored their bacon wrapped sausages, my goal is now to recreate them. Most of their menu items can be made GF or Dairy Free.

I’m from 6 hours away. Was in macomb for work and stumbled upon this place. I was underdressed in work clothes but who cares 😂 very fine didn’t. Bruschetta was absolutely on point! The “Chicken Macomb” is the entree I ordered. Perfectly seasoned with a lemon zest. Atmosphere was great and everyone was in high spirits. I’ll define back if I’m in the area!

Very calming and chic decor, took my daughter for a mom date and she's still talking about it days later. She even tried my salmon and said it was delicious! Those rolls with butter were to die for!

Wonderful experience. Had the lemonade chicken and smashed potatoes. My girlfriend had the Cajun shrimp. Food was awesome and service was terrific.

We're new in town and this is our second time at Magnolias.
I really love the atmosphere and the service in here, our waitress never hesitated to answer our questions. I absolutely love the bread assortment in the bread basket.
First time I've tried Sophie's Pasta "since I love goat cheese" ;) it tasted really good and it was a large portion, I also tried the Pretzel cheese beer soup and it was to die for! My boyfriend got a steak "as always"!
Last night we went there again, I got the 8 oz flat iron steak, medium rare and I asked for got cheese topping "glad that I did ask for that" along with a Chicken and rice soup and a side of garlic smashed redskin, and my boyfriend got a medium prime rib with shrimp scampi and of course his favorite brown sugar sweet potato. Soup was really, really good, but with the rest of the order, e were kind of disappointed! My steak had no flavor at, like really tasted like raw meat that's why I said I was glad that I asked for goat cheese topping and used tons of black pepper to add more flavor, smashed potatoes were a room temperature but tasted good. Joe didn't like his prime rib quoting him "meh, very bland" and he topped it with his au jus and spread the sweet potatoes, boxed it and took it home hoping it'll absorb all those flavors over night and taste better.

I'll give Magnolias kudos for stepping up and trying to bring a more upscale establishment to the area, but they aren't there yet. I've traveled all through the US and to some other countries on business where I've been able to experience a lot of variety in dinning experiences. Magnolias is pushing the price up far more than they are upgrading the food quality. For example the appetizer pictured is absolutely minimal in size. Angelini's in Keokuk is targeting the same market but their similar appetizer is $1-2 less and 50% bigger. Upgrading the included house salad with dinner tacks on another $5. It's nice but not that nice.
All in all, better quality food than the local dinners but over priced for what you get. My guess is that if an Angelini's opened in town, Magnolias would have to up their game a lot or be out of business.
