They were friendly and accommodating. There were 9 of us walking in without reservation and they found the tables for us. Food was fantastic, so tasty. The entire group was vegan so the staff was very attentive and helpful.
Updating my review, when there again and place gone even better, prices are still low compare to other Indian restaurants. Dosa night on every Wednesday @ $14.99 is a steal !!! And buffet everyday ! .

The management of this place has changed. Now operated by some North Indian folks and chef as well. Disclaimer: I am a North Indian myself, and having lived in US now for over two decades have figured out that in most cases, South Indian food is not good at North Indian restaurant, and vice versa.
We went to Udupi Bhavan (one of our favourites) after a long time. But this new management has changed the whole experience. Thay took 50 minutes to serve 2 dosa and 1 uttapam on a not too busy weeknight. And the taste was so mediocre. I tried chat buffet, but it was not that good also.

15 dollar buffet for Rock-hard Idlis, Burnt Chapati, Mirchi Bajji, Tamarind rice ( Cmmon Seriously), white rice, semiya kheer, some curries. Very disappointing options and not close to what I have known upupi bhavan for previously.
