JoJo is a great server. Takes a whole section of more than 9-10 tables while still doing everything else as well. Very hardworking & very sweet.
Cooks were doing amazing as well as it was only two of them in a busy restaurant & still managed to make the food come out fast. highly recommend!

Food is decent, but not great. Did a few carryout meals, and was surprised a couple times with price not realizing the fries are not part of the meal, they are a pretty big upcharge. Very much a greasy spoon kind of place if you like that (not an insult!)

What fantastic experience at Backwater Cafe in Lowell, Michigan.
The entire staff are all friendly, they acknowledge the regulars by name. They will make friends with anyone new. Great Hometown Feeling and atmosphere.
Well done Backwater Cafe !!!!

Been here numerous times. Always great service, and good food. Went today and they went above and beyond for my daughter. They got her a high chair, cut up her food for her, and even gave her a toy. Huge shout out to Gina, she was excellent!

The best food ever. Absolutely the sweetest staff. I don't go too often but they know I love my blue tubs ( French vanilla) of creamer with my coffee. Thx tiffany...

Great food and staff. The pancakes and bacon are the best. Staff is super nice and friendly. They are always asking how you are doing. Their is a great view of the river. Their mini pancakes are also really good. The only complaint I have, which is holding back the five stars is that the furniture is torn up. But over all it has great food and staff along with a great atmosphere.

We had a fantastic breakfast here. The dam omelet(mushrooms, tomatoes, cheddar and swiss cheeses and three eggs and the blueberry log jam (breakfast sausage links wrapped in blueberry pancakes) made an ample breakfast for two. Coffee a bit weaker than I like but better than most was constantly refilled by our attentive and gracious waitresses. Having a view of the geese on the river was a great bonus. Yes it is a bit rustic but that just makes it homey.

Hidden gem loved by locals. The atmosphere is rustic and kitch. Eating here is like visiting your aunt on the farm. Modest prices for fantastic platters of homemade diner-style fare. Worth a visit just for their homemade toast and jam alone. The home-baked breads and from-scratch cooking shine. Go somewhere (anywhere) else if you want matching coffee mugs and microwaved Sysco frozen meals.

This is a good place to grab breakfast.
Pros: The prices are great, you get a ton of food which can be difficult to finish at times due to the quantity, the food tends to be delicious, and waitresses are friendly.
Cons: The restaurant is run down and it shows, the food can be a little too greasy at times, and the pancakes are not that great (thin and rubbery).
