I've eaten here two times in the last week due to being in town for work. Both visits were exceptional with no major issues. I had a server forget an item one visit, but she was quick to go back and grab it.
The location on the river is awesome, but both indoor and outdoor seating areas are nice.
I had a burger one evening, and a goat cheese pizza. Both are good, but the pizza was wood fired and excellent. I really loved the crust.
Staff are very nice. I will be returning here.

I love the concept of an open kitchen. The seating arrangement isn't ideal for the space. I food is good but the prices are high for the small portions. The pizzas were more of a personal then 12 inch. For the money I'd rather have big portions.

Location is very good , lake front , you can sit inside to have a bar n grill ambience or outside , we had a cocktail - strawberry basil lemonade, a normal seasonal lemonade , chicken tenders and fries for starters , and then had a crispy chicken burger and Thai wood fired pizza.
Staff was friendly and nice
Ample parking places across the street.

This place was PHENOMENAL. Legitimately some of the best tasting food I've had in MI. The Gingerita cocktail was also perfect for the nice weather out on the patio. Food was hot, good size portions, plated professionally, and again just plain delicious. Seasoned perfectly. It's a rare day when I go out to eat and don't have to add salt or pepper. Kudos to this place.
Also, whoever came up with that Thai pizza idea... Give them a raise. That was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. So many unique flavors and they worked so well together. Well done, crispy, hot, sauced up. Just fantastic. This is going to be my girlfriend and I's new go-to date night spot!

The food is so good, had the Ruben and brussel sprouts. Couldn't choose between the creme brulee and chocolate mousse so had both! The staff were professional and got everything perfect. And the chalkboard art showing the drinks is stunning!

We stopped in during the day on a Saturday for a lunch date.. The atmosphere was great. The bartender was our waiter and he was lovely! We enjoyed both the drinks and the pizza. The dining area is much larger than we thought and very quiet so this made for the perfect stop. Prices, food, and service were all fantastic. Our only complaint, our pizza crust was over cooked a bit.. We usually do not mind this but when we tried to eat it, it hurt our jaws from being so hard. After cutting off the top two inches it was perfection! We can't wait to go back again!

Wide variety of interesting menu options to choose, great service with excellent atmosphere. Had the asparagus salad and added shrimp. Was delectable. Also has the chicken chili soup which was warm, creamy and flavorful.

Just finished a dine in with my very best friend here at our favorite restaurant. We had one of the best servers...Jen and the best pizzas along with our all time favorite appetizer, pan fried goat cheese! The food was delicious the atmosphere always the best because of our favorite staff of loves! You all know who you are and you all know how much it means to us to be there with you! WE LOVE FLAT RIVER GRILL BECAUSE OF ALL OF THIS!!! You all make it the best dining experience EVER!!!

It was cold and windy outside but the booth in the bar was perfect. Always like this place on our way between Lansing and GR, but honestly it's usually for food & drinks on the patio in the summer. So now instead of just a summer spot I can now have that awesome brisket year round in the cozy bar area. Highly recommended.

Nice spot in downtown Lowell. The brisket had some sort of aioli sauce and it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Staff was attentive and friendly. Recommended as a nice dinner spot in the country-side of West Michigan.

AMAZING! The food was delicious! We got the steak and the brisket. Both were so so flavorful! I also had a cup of chili and I could eat it every day. Our server was so sweet as well and just the right amount of attentive!

Found this place driving from Grand Rapids to Charlotte. Place was clean, staff were friendly and were generous with recommendations. We had the blueberry flatbread for an appetizer, the flatiron steak and the brisket. The brisket was wonderful, the service was excellent. We sat out where the heat lamps were looking over the water and walked around the town after. This is a very cute town with at least one excellent place to eat! You won’t be disappointed!

Absolutely amazing. This was our 2nd time here and I would say the first time was excellent sitting outside on the patio but this time was even better. The food was delicious. The brisket was cooked so perfect it melted in your mouth. The chicken chili was full of flavor and do not forget about the wood fire Flatbread the best appetizer ever. Our server Jae "like the letter" was also great very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back.

I went in with my boyfriend and we were seated quickly. You have the choice of inside or out. Outside does have a waiting period though. I recommend reserving a table if you want to guarantee sitting outside.
We both ordered white chicken chili and it came with a free bread appetizer. The bread was very nice and soft. It went well with the chili. The white chicken chili was also delicious. I'm definitely going to get it again. It was very flavorful.
The service was also great and the server was a sweet young lady. You have the option to pay online too. I'll probably be coming here in the near future!

Atmosphere is absolutely insane! Beautiful decor and design and beautiful outdoor seating. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE FOOD. The pizza is the best pizza i have ever had in my entire life. The staff is so sweet and so attentive to every detail and everything was honestly priced! Abby, the bartender, was amazing! Do yourself a favor and eat here. Please.

Superb! Great ambience, unique dishes presented in such an elegant manner I nearly cried- We started with the white chicken chili, the only soup I could say was better than my own recipe (the red chips on the side bring the visual wow factor) Flavors so distinct and full but that blended into a perfect melodic savory dang this soup is the s**t have again soup. We tried the wild mushroom wood fire pizza and a create your own, (ham, pepperoni,feta, smoked provolone, cheese blend with roasted red pepper and sun dried tomato) and were equally satisfied with the presentation and taste of both dishes. I love the crisp crunch the wood fire bake gives the crust. Definitely recommend the Flat River Grill. Our server John, was an absolute pleasure. He tunneled in on my whacky sense of humor and matched it with his own. He made us feel very welcome and explained all of the dishes we inquired about- made great suggestions, thoroughly knew the menu- and did I mention he's really fun and funny? We are definitely coming back- this may be our next "new place" bravo indeed. We closed our meal with a delectable recommendation from John called the brownie skillet- as close to heaven as I'll likely ever be- a must try. We split one and Warren renamed this dessert as the "get your own brownie" So happily satisfied- fantastic job all around!

FRG has excellent, cleverly prepared food. I like how they include so many health-conscious choices and superfoods in every dish. Their salads are hearty and packed with interesting toppings like flank steak and mushrooms or ahi tuna and pickled carrots and pineapple. The risotto is always a treat! The food prices are very fair considering the quality and preparation. The atmosphere is so cozy and the patio is great even in winter with the the heater fires burning.

This is my favorite restaurant to travel too. The atmosphere is enchanting no matter the time of year. A patio spot in the sun along the river, the covered winter porch with the glow of the heat lamps or a cozy booth in the perfectly lit restaurant are all perfect spots to enjoy a great menu that never disappoints. The staff is always very friendly , professional and accommodating. I have recommended this restaurant to several people and I will continue to only have positive things to say. I love Flat River Grill!

My husband and I went for our anniversary. Seems a bit costly for the food you get. Ordered the Chicken Michael got two very small pieces of chicken came with shrimp. Menu should tell you there are only 2 very small shrimp. The 3 asparagus spears were delicious but would have loved more. Food to $$ ratio was sad. There was a sauce that was to come on my chicken. Someone forgot so server had to bring it in a bowl. Food was tasty though. Need to hang fly traps outside too. I understand we were eating on the river but were so badly attacked we had to eat and run. I surly did expect to have some can't help nature events but there is nothing done to help prevent it. Having to eat my food fast before the flies did was just nuts. Tell people before you seat them outside.

From the time we stepped into the restaurant, the hostess was friendly and helpful. Our server was amazing (Patrick). We started with the fried Brussels sprouts-let's just say they were amazing!! Flavorful with whole garlic gloves and tasty. I ordered the steak ciabatta sandwich and it was delicious. My friend ordered a burger and she loved it. The White Sangaria was smooth and tasted so clean and fresh. My friend had a root beer drink that though it had alcohol in it, it tasted like a loaded root beer float!! Great overall experience. We will be back!

Went there for the first time yesterday for lunch and sat outside. The ambiance was perfect and the food was fabulous. We had the seared ahi tuna salad with added calamari. Wonderful! Our waiter, John, was amazing! He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything that we needed. We will definitely be back!

A friend had a gift card, so our group of 7 women decided to try the Flat River Grill. It was fantastic! We sat on the "heated" patio and John was our server. Everyone was very pleased with the meals. I had the coffee crusted sirloin, perfectly medium rare, with bourbon sauce. YUM! Will definitely be making the drive to Lowell again!

We had drinks and appetizers on the patio. The fried goat cheese was amazing, as were the Brussels sprouts. Bruschetta was also great. Service was excellent: Chris did an awesome job taking care of our group! I will definitely visit again next time I'm in Lowell.

Every year, they cheerfully accept the Chamber of Commerce " Lowellbucks" that we earn performing at Riverwalk Festival.... The service is always great, the view is lovely and the brussel sprouts were one of the best things I've EVER eaten. � Love you, Flat River Grill!

The stuffed crispy wontons were quite awful. I like bleu cheese but the flavor was completely overwhelming. This item should be taken off the menu, it is not on par with the rest of menu.
