Waterloo

First time at this establishment. Felt very uncomfortable. Server felt like he was just doing his job. Not engaging or welcoming. No real customer service. My friend has been here a few times. With no complaints. I will never return to this establishment. 4 stars due to the fact that my friend enjoyed his meal. Maybe they're more welcoming and engaging to the locals that live there.

Waterloo is a great place for great vibes. The rooftop patio is a wonderful spot for people watching and listening to some great music. There food is pretty good! It's definitely not the best food I've ever had, but the goat cheese avocados are some of my favorite appetizers ever. They have a lot of vegetarian options for someone like me. But what really determines how good a place is is it's fries, and Waterloo's fries are very good. The staff here is very sweet and will listen to my bad jokes :)

I had driven through Old Town Louisville and wanted to check Waterloo out for sometime now, mainly because of the incredible smells coming from this restaurant. Well we went this morning (11am) and all I can say is WOW! Smells definitely match up with taste. My wife and I tried a little of everything. The poppers very good definitely get and share. The grilled avocado tasty the jalapeño honey notable. If you are good with a sweet appetizer you will enjoy it. Now for the main dish! My wife got the southwest chicken this is not a small salad looked great! If you like salads you won't be disappointed. I decided on their special and had the brisket benedict. The combination of favors will knock your socks off! I will make the drive again couple other things I want try on their menu. It'll be tough to order the buffalo burger now that I have tasted the brisket. The rub is on the salty side but the overall flavor 5+ stars hope they don't change it. Here is 1/2 of the benedict had to taste it b4 telling you about it.

Fun place but be sure your food expectations are tempered. Its a bar with bar food. I was disappointed with the turkey club. Fell apart too easily. Toast the bread and use condiments to "glue" the sandwich together. Fries were cool when the sandwich arrived and under done. They lacked the crisp freshness of the onion rings which are excellent as idls the okra. Service is good. Well staffed.

UPDATE: 3 stars was generous. Food is good, they’re usually out of most things I find. , wait staff is great. The host staff unfortunately aren’t. We’ve been here twice both times I’ve made very reasonable requests only to have the hosts effectively gaslight me into thinking I’ve done something wrong. First time, I told them there were three of us but the third was going to be slightly behind us. Rather than having us wait, they sat us at a table for two. Then when I pulled up an extra chair for our third they came over and scolded me even after I reminded them I told them there were three of us. This took so long to resolve that by the time we got to order the kitchen had closed (we arrived at 7:30 pm). Second time, I parked and saw people out on the roof. When we went in I asked if the roof was heated and the hosts looked at each other and told me the roof was closed. I said “oh. There are people up there.” And they said “maybe it’s full” and just shrugged and sat us at an inside table. They then continued to take other guests up there. It isn’t a private function up there. Not sure what we’ve done to offend the hosts but I’m pretty over it. Not worth feeling so weird all evening.

Great place in Louisville to grab some drinks. The rooftop is amazing. Including a full bar with both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is really great. If you're in town I suggest getting in there but be aware that the parking including street parking around there is very limited you may have to Park some blocks away and walk over but it is worth it.
