I adopted my two cats from here. Both boys are in great health and were very well taken care of. The staff were also extremely helpful and always friendly! I had a wonderful experience adopting from KHS and would absolutely recommend it :)

Amazing group of people, I cannot recommend KHS enough! I’ve been able to foster a few dogs for them over the years and the process has always been so easy and I’m always so impressed by the organization and how they check up on you and make sure everything is going well. Without KHS I wouldn’t have my sweet kitty Ellie or my incredible soulmate in dog form, Gracie! I am so thankful for them, they are truly a compassionate and caring group of people and I would recommend them to everyone looking to adopt their new best friend! I also highly recommend fostering for them!

Rescued these little ones and took them to the KHS. They were so wonderful and assuring that they will find good homes. Not pictured: the 3 we adopted!

Extremely pleasurable experience. The staff were very friendly, the animals all seemed in good health and were well looked after and taken care of. The adoption process was extremely easy and we were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. I highly recommend this business.

They were great. Took my girl to their Care -A- Van they were so nice and price's were affordable! I would recommend anyone to them. I want to thank everyone that makes it possible for people to be able to afford the costs.

such a caring and helpful staff. I've met my pet soulmate here, and I couldn't be happier!!! they supply you with plenty of information and some starter supplies for your new friend (massive help for any new pet owners), and then you and your pet are on your way!

I highly recommend to anybody looking to adopt a kitten or puppy or dog or cat . The staff was super friendly and I could see the animals were well taken care of they have charts even showing bathroom breaks feeding schedule and so on . The application process was a breeze it wasn't super complicated like some other places and the adoption fee was very reasonable. I now have a fur baby and he Is right at home .

Our new baby is still adjusting to his animal family and living in a house, but we are so happy to have him. I love that the Humane society connects pets with a happy home. I wish that I could have gotten a little more information on his history from his foster home or background but everyone there is very friendly and helpful with what information they have.

The Kentucky Humane Society does an excellent job with evaluating animals for personality traits, making it easier to identify ones in line with what you are looking for. The animals also receive wonderful care. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Im only giving this 4 star rating because it is a place that is trying to help people with animals or pets that are no longer wanted. But, for people that have a humane instinct to take in an animal because of whatever reason, and find themselves in a difficult situation and decide that this decision has taken a hardship on their physical and mental health, the humane society is not so easy to work with. Unfortunately this situation has left me with the decision to be very cautious about helping an abandoned animal. SAD.
