Checks Bbq & Blues

I’ve only ordered to go and never sat inside. This place is AMAZING! The ribs are the best ribs I’ve had in Louisville, the cheese fries are so full of flavor and soooo cheesy, and potato salad is unique and delicious, and best of all they are not stingy with the portions. 10/10 recommend. First time experience. Food and live music was great. Service was good. Prices were comparable to other bbq places, but I got to enjoy live music here. Parking is limited. And if you want ribs, come early or call first to see if their available. Their delivery may last 3 days, or sale out in 1 day. I didn't try the ribs, but I plan on it. If they would have had info on additional parking and availability of ribs listed on their page, I would give them five stars. And if they do, and I missed it, then readers in the know can call this a five star review.

This place is great. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. It wasn’t even 5 minutes from the time I walked in to getting a giant plate of bbq nachos for my table. The rest of the service was excellent. As a former waiter myself I’m always pleasantly surprised when servers pay attention to the fullness of your drinks and get you refills before you run out. As someone who drinks a lot when I’m out a restaurant, this aspect of service is very important to me . They have nice blues music playing in the background that fits the ambiance perfectly. The waitresses have those very friendly southern vibes. Expect to be called “baby” and “darling” multiple times as you are being waited on .

Checks’ food is phenomenal! I ordered wings for the Super Bowl, and they did not disappoint. I was really impressed with the size of the wings. I really enjoyed the breading, it makes the difference. My order was prepared promptly and was ready at the pick up time they gave me. The atmosphere in Checks is really cool, I liken it to a honky rink/blues bar that has great people and great service.
