March 2021. I been to the hotel Ramada and this restaurant is located inside where I stayed many times but first time eating at El Nopal. So not having to try there full menu but one dish so far. I had the Carnitas dinner; seasoned pork chunks deep fried until crispy on the outside. Served with rice and beans in tomatillo sauce. Includes 3 soft tortillas. They definitely give you large portions and 1 dinner could be shared for 2, mine definitely was enough for 2. The food was good, not so much on the taco I order, for some reason they use 2 shells, if it was soft that be different. Average Mexican to good but not at 5 star compared to others I been too. I would still recommend and I would go back to try other menu items. ************************
So came back in August 2021 and had another dish on the menu. Pork chop diner with rice and beans and tortillas. Was very good with the quality and quantity of the food. Like I said still recommended.
Everything here was fantastic. Did dine in and got the chicken/steak/shrimp/chorizo fajitas. They were so good. And the portions were huge. Had enough for dinner and to soak up the liquor later on after the bars. Would definitely come back.
Great place to get a quit bite just need little more flavor on food more seasoning.
Great service and scrumptious food!
Food was delicious, service was friendly and fast! Margarita was muy bueno! 😊
This restaurant is inside the Ramada INN on ZORN AVE in North Louisville, KY. If you're staying at the hotel for an event at Champions Park. It's a golden combo. The restaurant will stay open for a couple hours for chips and drinks. The kitchen will be closed, tho. I ate all my meals for my 2 day stay. Everything is good ! All drinks, all entrees. Has a festive decor and atomsphere inside, too. The hotel in a 5 minute from Champions Park. I was here for Bourbon and Beyond from Texas.
Fantastic generous portions.
I had the salmon filet.
Meal was extremely prompt! There was about 15 ppl in my party and the food came out eithin 15 minutes if not less. And all of the orders were correct, minus one missing queso on their quesadilla fajita. I ordered the lunch combo of the chicken quesadilla that came with rice. It was AMAZING and only $7. They kept the chips and salsa coming!
Nice place, but I don't know how authentic a five pound quesadilla is. There was enough meat on my one quesadilla meal for a week. Seemed wasteful to me. I know some people highly value quality. Five stars to a place just because they pile a bunch of food on the plate. Whenever I get a huge portion I can't help but wonder how the restaurant makes a profit unless they are getting the cheapest possible quality of ingredients. The food here tasted fine, but salts and fats and char taste pretty good to begin with. Nice service and clean, too. I am just turned off by too much food. Kinda grosses me out when I either eat too much or throw it away. Next time we would know, but as travelers there will not be a next time. Maybe offer quality plates or quantity plates. Or half portions. Or calculate what a suggested serving size is and put that on the menu.
Food was good and fast friendly service
