Frisch's Big Boy

It's still a favorite of mine since childhood. Fond memories of my grandmother taking my brother and I for a big boy after baseball practice or a game. It's easy to not recognize the moments that will stand with you for the rest of your life. Pay attention and take things slow.. life is moving fast enough! You owe yourself some lifelong memories! Go get em!

I have not been to Frisch's in several years. But, the grandkids were over the other night so my wife and I decided to take them there to eat. We did not know what to expect because the Frisch's in Hikes Point and St. Matthews closed in recent years. So, we jumped in the car and were there in minutes. We were somewhat surprised as the place was packed. It was great as the restaurant was full of families. The service was excellent and the food tasted hot and fresh. In truth, my wife and I had Big Boy platters and the kids had burgers and fries from the kid's menu. There were five of us and the bill before adding the tip was $33.85. While we have not been to McDonalds in some time, I bet McDonalds would have been more expensive. I don't mean to pick on McDonalds, but the point I'm trying to make is that this nice family oriented restaurant was likely no more expensive than drive through fast food. The kids were happy with those activity sheets and crayons, and my wife and I got to actually enjoy the children at a table without laptops all around. I also want to say thank you to April as she took very good care of my family. In fact, all the folks working that night were outstanding. If you haven't taken your family to Frisch's on Lincoln Ave in some time, I recommend you treat the family and enjoy time together instead of driving through a line.

When we came here, it was extremely busy. It was very obvious that the restaurant was short staffed. However, the waitress (who we found out later was the manager) was extremely friendly, accommodating, and made sure we had a great dining experience. We felt bad about her being the only server that evening. Despite the stressful circumstances for her, she made sure we had drinks, got our order right, and everything was hot and fresh. 10/10 highly recommend. Will definitely be back!
