We had the most amazing dinner Friday night! My daughter who just moved to Louisville for grad school heard about it and made the reservation. The food was delicious. And even though it was something new for us, everyone in in our party enjoyed it, even my 73 year old Mom! The scallops, lamb chops, salmon, and flank steak dinners are to die for. I ordered the roasted brussel sprouts as an appetizer and could have eaten the entire bowl! The atmosphere was great and our waiter, Bedis, was the best. He was patient and kind, and explained some of the menu items we asked about (a lot was new to us). I would highly recommend this restaurant. The whole experience was fantastic!
... drive by this place, daily... but never ate there until yesterday evening, I had short ribs... and got to taste lamb meatball, and a bit of the shrimp and grits... roasted Brussel sprouts rocked, sautéed kale with giant beans were awesome... and even the Pinot Blanc that we selected, was spot on! Melissa, was an attentive server! This place is solid!
The Fat Lamb is an absolute gem! If you go to one restaurant in Louisville, make it The Fat Lamb. The cocktails, wine and food are terrific across the board. Talk to Joe or Dane at the bar and they will steer you to what works for you every time. And Chef Dallas and the crew in the kitchen create incredible flavors that will delight any palate. We hope to be able to try everything on the menu and can’t wait to go back every time we’re in Louisville.
amazing meal in louisville. everything on the menu sounds so good it was so hard to decide what to order, but we got the arancini (amazing) & an old fashioned and house cocktail which were perfect. our server recommended the short ribs and they were truly amazing. melt in your mouth and the polenta was so creamy. the veal bolognese was also so so flavorful. split the warm blondie with coffee ice cream for dessert, wow a perfect flavor combo. all around amazing meal, definitely expensive but completely worth it. service was fantastic and the whole vibe was so cozy and enjoyable. such an awesome experience as a first time visitor to the city.
Food was pretty good. I got the ribeye with mashed potatoes, not sure if it was worth the price, but it was good. Cocktails were good. The Nutella mousse was a bit too rich for me, it would've been better if there was no marscapone.
Our 1st visit. Great date night with excellent food. Truffle fries to get us started were amazing. The dipping sauce was incredible. I had the fried chicken and it was delicious. My husband had the Braised Beef short first and he said they were delicious. Great atmosphere with wonderful service. Recommend you make reservations prior to going.
Don't forget to scan parking before dining! You get 3 hours free, so it's a minor inconvenience but worth mentioning. Very cozy atmosphere, nice selection of spirits, beer, and cocktails on the menu. Shared the arancini. They were okay. Not exceptional, but we're also not in Sicily. I enjoyed the gnocchi. Very fresh and homemade flavors. My friend had the duck and enjoyed it. It looked overcooked to me and it was the chef's call. Overall, it was very pleasant. Attentive service. Reasonable price as well. I'd come back here before returning to Jack Fry's because they put you on the countdown clock at Fry's. This was much more relaxed.
Wonderful hospitality I have ever experienced.
The old-fashioned cocktail is delicious.
I had the special menu with the Apron INC.
The Greek salad is good. Surf and Turf is amazing, and I love it. The dessert was perfect to end the meal.
I would come back to try a few more of their menu and cocktails in the future.
Great ambience, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and decadent food. Beef ribs were tender and tasty, salads were amazing and everything was made with fresh ingredients.
We really enjoyed this spot.
Drinks:
Both our drinks were delicious! He got the blood moon Manhattan & I got the tequila pineapple drink (highly highly recommend!!)
We didn’t order any apps, but something noteworthy is their truffle fries were crinkle fries, so if you aren’t a crinkle fry person, avoid them. I considered getting them until I saw them come out.
Dinner:
Lamb chops - 9/10 with the only complaint was not enough of the sides/veggies. Meat was great, cooked and seasoned well.
Sea scallops with spinach & bacon risotto - easily 10/10 and I don’t even like bacon. Cooked well, sauce was a perfect pair with the scallops.
We both felt fulfilled after the dinner without feeling like we overindulged. Portion sizes were spot on.
Service was great, the owner even came by to check on us during our meal and was very personable. Our waitress was interesting, slightly socially awkward, but she was great on her timing and not interrupting our conversations!
Total damage for 2 drinks and 2 entrees: just shy of $130, then tip. Totally worth it for a nice dinner out.
We just loved this restaurant. Small and quaint. We had truffle fries, black vinegar based beef short ribs, hot sauce marinated fried chicken, and the Ricotta Gnocchi & Frondosa Farms Mushrooms. Everything was perfect. We didn’t realize gratuity was added to our party of five and we left a 20% tip too. The restaurant called me (phone number from reservation) and told me. They said they feel honesty is always the best policy. I told her to keep both and have a great night. I have never had a restaurant call me and tell me I over tipped! This is a foodie’s haven.
We arrived on Saturday at 5 o’clock right as they open. Amazing service, very knowledgeable, staff, and food that was absolutely amazing. The goat cheese and pita are excellent, and the duck and seafood croquettes were perfect. We will absolutely come back.
