My husband were in Louisville for our anniversary and were looking for somewhere different from where we usually dine. I was looking up restaurants and the good reviews and handmade tamales caught my eye. We arrived about 7:30 on a Saturday night and were immediately seated. They brought a basket of crusty bread and some herb butter to our table which was nice. I started out with a cuban martini ($8) and my husband had a beer($2.50). We decided to split a tamale for an appetizer, it was fabulous! I ordered the Cubano sandwich and sweet potato fries with a spice honey. My husband got the steak sandwich with regular fries. Both sandwiches were outstanding. (I took a bite of his and liked mine more.) We each had another drink and were too full for dessert. We enjoyed our meal very much and will definitely be back.
Love this place and their customer services. Always really friendly and tapas were really good. I had been here 4 times and I'm never disappointed of the food they serves.
The Ropa Vieja was awesome! Perfect seasoning and presentation. The cafe Cubano was spot on. The service and atmosphere were excellent! Viva HRT&TB!
The steak tacos from the tapas menu! Yes!!
I already knew I loved the restaurant Havana Rumba but the express version is the best idea ever !! It's right on bardstown so I can quickly get my food during my lunch break and get out of there. All of the employees are super helpful when I can't decide what to get, and they're very nice. I love what they did with the place !! A+
We love this place!!!. My wife and I love this new place! It is a great addition to Bardstown Rd. We have always been huge fans of the original Havana Rumba and we love the new concept they have created with the express and tapas bar. The lomo saltado is delicious and the plantains are a must! I personally think they have the best margaritas in town and my wife loves their sangria. The prices are very affordable and the food is great, but it is also a great place to go if you are just wanting to have drinks too. We live in The Highlands and we often go to have drinks and a few tapas. The service and the atmosphere in the tapas bar have been great every time we have visited. This restaurant is a wonderful addition to The Highlands!!!
Really tasty food and excellent service! Large seating areas, but when we came in we were seated at a high top against the wall next to another high top of 5 people so I felt really cramped. Our waitress was attentive and we got our drinks and food quickly so not much to complain about.
Mojitos are yummy, not syrupy like some of the places we've been to. The chicken croquettes were light (for fried items), and yet flavorful. Will definitely come back and try other cuban dishes.
Went here for the first time yesterday. EVERYTHING was good! Kelly served our table and made some recommendations. She has great taste in my opinion. Everything she recommended was good. Get the cheese and spinach empanada. The beef was good but the cheese and spinach was great. Food and drinks had amazing presentation and taste. They even have the initials for the restaurant on their ice in the old fashion. Definitely had to get a picture. I tried a lot of food this first visit but definitely going back to try more!
Very flavorful and delicious. Not only tasty but very good presentation as well. Service was very good with no wait and attentive wait staff. I can see why this is a popular place. Well stocked bar. I look forward to a return visit.
Glad we found this place.
We drove 1.5 hours to come try it.
The service was great thank you.
The food was the best tasting I had in 20 years since I moved to Kentucky.
This place is a party. Food was excellent for how loud and busy it was the service was good. Restaurant was almost like a night club. Food was definitely worth how loud it was. I would go back
The first thing I loved was its obviously family owned and operated. We didn’t wait for a table, even though it was obviously very busy! The menu is expanse and the choices are straight out of Havana! We each ordered a Cuban Rumble sandwich, but honestly they were so big, we easily could have split one! The service was awesome. We ordered the elote, but it wasn’t available…I’ll try again next time I go. The prices are reasonable and dinner for two didn’t break the bank. I’ll absolutely be back here again.
Found this Cuban restaurant here at Bardstown Road!
The food is good , we’ve ordered chimichurri steak and chicken quesadilla🫶.
However, our server was a bit sharp, she won’t even let us finish our sentence (she’ll say I know)
I dunno if it’s just being confident and assertive but it just made us a bit uncomfy.
The ambiance is good especially they have outside sitting with a really good view.
Have always loved this place but havent been there in years due to living out of town. Well worth the 2 hour drive. Food was great, server was great and the atmosphere was great.
Always an incredible meal, excellent service, and delicious drinks at Havana Rumba! Thanksgiving weekend we stopped in Friday night and loved the live music and fun vibes! Our out-of-town guests had a great time and we will be back soon. Keep up the great quality Havana Rumba - don’t change a thing!!l
¡Delicioso! We had a wonderful experience. The food was plentiful, tasty and authentic, service was knowledgeable and eager to assist with any questions. I have never looked this forward to leftovers so much😋
