English Grill - Louisville - Photo album

We loved dining at the English Grill! The Hot Browns were delicious and are definitely a must when dining here. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs and even went out of their way to have a handwritten note for my wife that I had requested through my OpenTable reservation. Thank yo
My mom and I had a wonderful experience at The Brown for lunch today. Our food was amazing but the service was outstanding. Yasser, our server was great and provided us plenty of history of the hotel. The farmers salad was my favorite salad I had ever tasted. The hot brown and Derby pie were also ph
It’s worth every penny. Between the service and the history lesson this place is 5 stars. If you add the fantastic food, it’s 10 stars. This place is to die for! I will be back very soon, this is one of my new favorite downtown restaurants.
Came here after learning about The Hot Brown, my experience was even better than expected, the food and service were excellent. Definitely a must-try place if you're in Louisville. Food and dessert were $40, worth every penny
There are pretenders to the Hot Brown. This ain't one of 'em! This is the birthplace of this iconic dish, and at 90+ years of age, it is still going strong! Our two guests had had pretender HBs before, but all four of us will never go for anything less than the real thing from now on! I regret not
What a great experience at the English Grill. You can eat dinner at plenty of "old school" Louisville restaurants, but what makes an experience is the staff. Kelly A. our waiter was excellent. Very attentive and easy to talk with. He knew exactly when to come and chat and when to give us some ti
Delicious comfort food. I didn't e enough get the full size and it was more than enough. Was so nice to try a piece of Louisville, KY history
Can't really describe the great time we had doing the Chef's table. It was such a great experience from the fantastic menu they developed for us, wine pairings and just seeing how they operate!!! I can't recommend this experience enough they really do a phenomenal job and look forward to doing it a
An elegant upscale restaurant in a historic hotel. I had a salmon Caesar for dinner. It was exceptional. My wife and I shared a brown derby for dessert that didn't disappoint.
One of the best dinning experiences in Louisville, excellent service, warm environment they make us feel like at home, the chef and the servers are experts, they really know what they are doing and what they are offering
Headed to a show at the Brown Theatre and stopped in for a bite. The symphony of what they are calling the Shrimp & Grits was probably my favorite meal this year. Will return.
Always flawless...no matter your app, entree, dessert or beverage selections... perfect every single time.
An absolutely amazing experience for my Wife and I’s anniversary. The food was outstanding and for as good as the food was the service was better.
The restaurant was lovely and the staff was excessively friendly and enjoyable to talk with. Ron, our server, had a great knowledge of the menu and was very personable. He described the sweet potato soup so well that we had to try it. We thought that it was very tasty, however we weren't quite pre

Let me tell you. This place was great. I booked a night at the hotel for my friend and I and made a reservation at the English Grill for dinner. We both had the hot brown and it was delicious. The chef also brought us new food from the menu for us to try. I had no idea what I ate but it was amazing.
Take your time and enjoy the experience. Start with the Caesar salad that is prepared table side. The English Grill is a favorite for our family especially around the holidays. The servers always have fantastic stories about the food or the hotel. If you don't know what to order just ask for the Hot
If you have never had a hot brown, this is the place to have one. But if you do, then you won't have room for any appetizers or one of the wonderful entrees (grilled duck breast anyone?) that are part of the selection. An excellent wine list BUT ALSO a wonderful bourbon selection of craft and small
Beautiful dining room, great service, good food but not the best. I tried a good watermelon-mozzarella appetizer/tasting, their homemade bread was good, and the classic Hot Brown was good but the flavors weren't as strong as I was hoping. My colleague enjoyed their gin and tonic. I might come bac
