When I am out of town at length, this is one of the cravings that I want first when I come back. Yes, it’s that good. Unforgettable Fried chicken schwarma
Popped in here for a quick lunch. Got the falafel and hummus platter. It was so good! Friend got the lamb and hummus platter and that was delicious as well. Wish we had one of these places near where we live.
Since Sunday was the last day of summer— the last day before the semester began again—I made it a priority to go out for a late lunch, even if it meant a boring, hour-long mid-day bus ride to Atwater Village in Glendale. When classes start, work multiplies by a bajillion, so I was anxious to squeeze in as much relaxation/carefree time within 24 hours…

Walked by and it was crowded for a good reason. It's was excellent. Small and Precise menu with fresh market driven ingredients.
It's wonderful when traditional cultural food is upgraded with quality ingredients.
Bravo...
as good as the falafel is here, the lamb sandwich has become our go-to. with a side of hummus and flatbread, it is the perfect lunch for two. everything is super fresh and super flavorful, and definitely messy (in the best way!). there are only a few counter seats inside, but there are several public tables and chairs right outside their door. their iced mint tea and rosemary lemonade are {insert thumbs up emoji here}.
Glendale is home to the largest Armenian population outside of Armenia. In addition to a proud history (all the more proud, with the commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Genocide earlier this month), the Armenian community is rightfully proud of its food-ways and food culture.
There is a lot of good Mediterranean cuisine to be had in Glendale, so opening up a place like Dune is a bit of a risk, given where it is.
Still, Dune kicks some measure of ass. Guess they don’t have to worry too much.
The space is well…it reminds me of Chego quite a bit. It’s a kitchen, and a stretch of countertop stretching around all four walls of the establishment. You step up to the counter, have a seat on one of the stools, and wait for the magic to arrive.
In fact, in that respect, it’s just like Chego.
