Review Daily Grill - Los Angeles

We used to go frequently before it closed, once reopened we tried the second week and things were terrible. The calamari was beyond greasy, the pot pies were raw and uncooked, they took back and after waiting too long they brought us two burgers, desite asking for medium they were super raw-we ate nothing just two drinks. The manager agreed comped the meal, drinks and gave us a gift card. We came back Sunday aug 11. Sat at bar had two good drinks and tried the calimari...again; raw, greasy, dripping horrible . The manager saw us blotting the stuff and the napkin getting soaked, he offered to place over the broiler to dry out-what so the grease could congeal? The manager said turnovers, kitchen being tweeked...its been awhile, they needed more time...Really for us disappointing and a waste of time. This place needs help fast. Sure some people ate, didnt say anything but near us a woman was clearly not happy picking and poking her something.

Love it. Best crab cakes ever. I usually go to The Grill on the Alley in BH, but this is the same, or sister, company. Really great food! Oh, and our service was awesome, too. Sat at the bar and they took really good care of us.

Really enjoyed the food and service. We walked in and sat pretty much right away. We ordered the Carb Cakes for an appetizer which were very large and cooked perfectly. Then I ordered the Cobb salad which was huge! It was pretty good. I had to add a bunch of pepper but other than that I really liked it. For desert we had the fudge brownie pie. It's a big ol brownie with a big scoop of vanilla on top. Then they pour a bunch of caramel sauce on top. Really had a good dinner and good service

Food was good. Meatloaf portion smaller than I remember it, but very tasty. Carrots were goodl Service was fair for such an empty place. Management couldn't access my birthday certificate from the Grill Concepts program so I was offered a birthday dessert-small scoop of ice cream with a cherry over a thin tiny brownie. Disappointing! Grill not as good as I remember it to be.

Daily Grill in Studio City has returned again, though the owners never left! For some reason unknown to me, they had closed a few years ago and then reopened as Laurel Pointe, which had a nautical theme and associated cuisine. Midlife crisis perhaps or sign of these crazy, polarized times? But the reincarnated Daily Grill has returned to the essentially same interior as Laurel Pointe but now back to most of the old menu. Comfort food favorites, like meatloaf and chicken pot pie, are back! I did notice, however, that their delicious gazpacho soup is MIA. Our very sweet and excellent server, Maya, said it may return because a number of previous customers like myself have been asking about it. Prices were reasonable, though the menu could benefit from some clarification. Entrees include two items listed under Side Dishes, but there is a price after each item shown there, suggesting the price of each choice is added to the price shown after each entree. Maya clarified those prices were for customers ordering more than the two sides included with your entree. Free parking, a growing anomaly in our city, is readily available. I was surprised they are open only until 10 PM on weekends, especially since they have a nice bar in the dining room. Maybe that will evolve over these challenging times for restaurants. Old time customer or new, give it a try!

Oh, I'm so happy that the Daily Grill is back in Studio City!!! When I’m craving a good piece of salmon and garlic mashed potatoes and some steamed spinach this is the only place I want to come to eat it! But everything is good - they have delicious salads and it’s just very clean simple delicious food.

Update May 2020: Daily Grill continues to deliver (both literally and figuratively): for curbside pick up and delivery ( through PostMates, DoorDash, GrubHub - all offering slightly different menu options) with good food, good packaging, and excellent customer service (if you have questions about your order or what's available, call the restaurant: they are eager to help). They feature good value specials - $11 lunch specials, "2 for $30 that includes two entrees (with several choices), a salad, and cookies for dessert. Their menu also includes some of their classics: cobb salad, chicken pot pie, fish and chips,, meat loaf and mashed potatoes, a great chop house burger, and of course the best crusty sour dough bread south of San Francisco. During the pandemic, they also are selling various grocery supplies, such as cheese, eggs, and paper goods. Daily Grill Easter Dinnner Special 2020: Cooped up at home for well over a month now (high risk for the virus), I decided to splurge last night for a change of pace and treat myself to a holiday dinner (delivered from Daily Grill Studio City, CA). The Daily Grill Easter feast was amazing. I got the dinner for two and selected the glazed ham, three sides, salad, and dessert - and added a key lime pie (extra, but I do love it). I overindulged but well worth it. And of course, the bread was incredible as usual. Delivery was right on time at 4 pm (I had a 4-4:30 window). Food was packaged and presented beautifully - and still hot. So let's start with : I am still stuffed today. I have enough leftovers for at least two dinners, with some extras maybe of the sides. Some of the items were very, very good (those were the ones that ranked lower in total): caesar salad and grilled asparagus. Then, the glazed ham (glaze on the side so I could control how much I want of it) was exceptional - generous portion (that was true of everything). But the garlic mashed potatoes (gravy in a separate container): totally amazing! Best I have had. And the cheesecake? Outrageously good (with containers of both whipped cream and raspberry sauce - a tad tangy, not overly sweet - on the said, too). This was one wonderful dinner that had generous portions for two people and even for two would have had leftovers. I have always liked Daily Grill. I will order deliveries from them during this virus shutdown to help them survive. And when the dining room re-opens, you will see me there.

No grapefruit juice? How could this reasuraunt not have any favorite beverage? I asked the waitress and at least they had it at one point. Edit: They actually did have it but I feel like the staff should have been educated with what was on the beverage menu
