Review Streets Of India Cafe - Los Angeles

Just finished eating here. The food was delicious. I ordered paneer tikka masala and daal makhni. Neither of the dishes were too heavy. Some restaurants make their daal makhni and paneer dishes with a lot of cream, this did not seem like the case here. Food was the right hotness, not too spicy, did not have a lot of masalas, and you could taste the herbs and onions in the daal, which was perfect. Overall it was very very good!

The "streets of india cafe" provides dishes enjoyed from street carts in Mumbai. Bollywood music videos add to the atmosphere. Many conventional and vegan selections are available. The vegan items are marked with a "V." (Many India dishes are made without animal protein.) Several styles of Nam (flat bread) are cook to order and are included with lunch. The counter staff is friendly and knowledgeable. During the lunch hours, the restaurant operates as an all-you-can-eat buffet; at dinner, table service and a more complex menu is provided. This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but the quality and flavors make a difference. Both patio and indoor seating are offered. Free, one hour validated parking is provided in the attached covered lot, which is on the same level as the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility includes automatic doors from the parking structure, a lift at the front of the restaurant, and a gender nutural bathroom. Śānadāra, just fabulous.

when my wife was pregnant with my oldest daughter most of her cravings were for Indian food, basically chicken tikka marsala, so now my 12 year daughters favorite food is Indian food. we stopped by this restaurant on our way home from a softball tourney and after our lunch my daughter gave it 2 thumbs up

Good buffet selection. As well as dessert options. The taste varies sometimes. Vegan/ vegetarian options and sauces as well.

Yummy food with EXCELLENT prices! The staff here are very friendly but the food is the best in the valley. I come here often when my wife and I don't want to cook at home. I'd recommend the chicken biryani and garlic chicken curry. Their tandoori sizzler is very nice too as the tandoori is nice and wet.

It was a great place to eat, but now the new staff and new chef are not the same. The staff lady Sadiya who is really terrible with customer service. The worst I ever had to deal with! She has no respect to consumers. I had some issues with my order one night and resolved it with the manager. She came to us and brought up the issues at the lunch buffet! I had to raise my voice at her to request her to not continuously bring it up as the issue has been resolved! It was an unpleasant experience! We miss the old, great, staff and chef!

The lunch buffet is unbelievably good! Homemade-style food, and everything is fantastic! It's self-serve, but the staff is very helpful. I can't say enough about this place!

A real neighborhood gem featuring Northern Indian cuisine, and also Nepalese and Tibetan cuisine. The place is on the corner of Ventura and Libbit, located inside a medical/ office building. Park in the structure behind the building, and cut through the medical building lobby. <br/><br/>We came here on a Saturday night and it was busy but not packed. I noticed many customers were Indian decent, which is always good. We were warmly greeted and told to sit anywhere we wanted.

A real neighborhood gem featuring Northern Indian cusine, and also Nepalese and Tibetan cuisine. The place is on the corner of Ventura and Libbit, just a few doors down from Benihana's and located inside a medical/ office building. Park in the structure behind the building, and cut through the medical building lobby.<br/><br/>We came here on a Saturday night and it was busy but not packed. I noticed many customers were Indian decent, which IMHO is always good. We were warmly greeted and told to sit anywhere we wanted. <br/><br/>We started off with a Nepalese dish, MoMo, which is a steamed chicken dumpling served with a spicy dipping sauce. The server said this dish takes about 10-15 minutes, as its steamed fresh. Excellent starter and almost reminded me of a Shanghainese dumpling. <br/><br/>For our entree, we went with<br/><br/>- the ever popular Chicken Tikka Masala, <br/><br/>- the Daal of the day (yellow daal) <br/><br/>- Mushroom and Peas. <br/><br/>The waitress said they ran out of mushrooms and offered to sub it with mixed vegetables (ie: zucchini, caulflower, carrots, etc.). <br/><br/>Our dishes came out shortly after the MoMo, and they were decent size portions. We each received a bowl of rice (not just one to share). The Tikka Masala is still my favorite, and this one was excellent. The chicken was not overcooked, and were decent sized cubes of white meat, smothered in a pot of creamy masala sauce. I could have drank the bowl.<br/><br/>The Daal and the Mixed Veggies were good, with an extremely good kick. I don't know which one was spicier but lucky for me, I had the rice to smother the heat, and I doused it with more Tikka Masala sauce. <br/><br/>If you check in on yelp, they offer a 15% discount, which brought our food and drinks down to $39. I'd come back here again to try some other items, especially a Napalese or Taibetan item. Thumbs up!

Love this Place!. I can't get enough, I keep coming back. The Lunch special is amazing and the food is even better. <br/><br/>I overheard a regular having a conversation with the owner and he said "I can't really think of another place/restaurant that makes me feel good before, during, and after I leave."<br/><br/>And I couldn't agree more, its the reasons why I keep returning, its magical!<br/><br/>If you're a vegan/vegitarian and you live in the Valley, this is an EXCELLENT find.<br/><br/>I hope you enjoy it as much as me =)

Fantastic tasting food along with an absolutely great staff. The flavors are wonderful. None of their dishes has ever disappointed. I'm not a vegetarian yet I come back frequently. Their meat-imitations are really amazing.
