This is a very nice restaurant with a good service and cosy interior.
The Thai food that they serve, is just delicious!
I have tried the Yellow Curry menu with soup from the Lunch Special.m and I just love it!
I would definitely recommend Leela Thai Restaurant. đđšđ

Great food and atmosphere! The portions are pretty generous and the reasonable prices. Parking is an issue and the wait time may be a bit long around dinner time.

Second time here and this time was not as good experience as the first time. I was on a date with my husband. Service was not good this time, (we had 4 different waiters) and we didn't get our food at the same time. I had to wait 8 minutes for my food and at that point my husbands food was getting cold. Green curry was very good, even if they missed to make it "Thai spicy" in the kitchen. The world beef is good but a bit "simple" and bland.
Try the Thai ice coffee, it's delicious!

Nestled in a little pocket of trendy restaurants, Leela Thai scores on nice patio ambience, attentive service, and good selection of Thai, Chinese, and other Asian dishes. Having lived in Thailand six years, I was excited to try my favorites: Tom Kha Gai, Penang Gai, Som Tum Thai, Gra Prow Nui,. Goong Kratiem Prik Thai, Khao Soi, and Pad Thai.
The soup was good, but lacking in ingredients... no ginger root or lemongrass stems, but instead only chicken, mushrooms, and oddly, cabbage. The Penang chicken was ok and as expected. The papaya salad was very good. The basil beef was the biggest disappointment. This dish is a favorite I have everywhere (with chicken) and it was lacking flavor and had tough beef. The garlic pepper shrimp was all wrong. Normally it is dry crusted with black pepper and garlic. This was just smothered in sweet chili sauce that is normally used for spring rolls. The khao soi was almost right, but the noodles were wrong... ramen type noodles were used instead of flat lomein type noodles. And there was no chicken drumstick! Finally, the pad thai was just ok. I've had way better two minute street pad thai in Thailand.
All in all, good portions, decent prices, friendly service, great ambience, and mostly good food.

The portions are smaller than your typical ma and pa thai restaurants. Restaurant is nice but having at least 2 restrooms and better parking would have helped. The food is more catered to Americans. So if u want more fishy salty taste, go elsewhere. But other than that it was okay.

Iâve been here twice, once dine in and just now have it a second chance with take out. Honestly not a good Thai option especially with Thai town so close (boran Thai is my favorite, I love their khao soi). Their pad Thai is clumped, dry, bland, and came with no toppings. Cream cheese rangoons were thick and undercooked. Chicken lettuce wraps are actually decent as are their dipping sauces and Thai tea but yeahhhh green curry was bland as well. The staff are pleasant and itâs a cute place so Iâm bummed this place is definitely on my no list now but itâs just reallyâŚ.bland.
Marvelous
Very poor quality orange Chicken, I literally had to search for any type of meat, everything else was like leftover scraps underneath the frying pan after cooking fried Chicken. The cream cheese rag... was the only thing that saved the meal.

Really really cute spot with a great ambiance! I loved the jungle-like patio and the overhead lights were a nice touch. The service was kind and attentive and the food was delicious! I had the tofu pad see ew and it was a great mix of broccoli, noodles, and egg. They have a pretty extensive vegan menu too if you need one!

Great neighborgood hang out. Large patio accommodates a wide array of people. Great place to hang out and people watch. Near the dog park so lots of interesting personalities. Your canine friends are welcome. The food is pretty good, kind of small servings so even though the prices are low the value is average.

Great food, nice people. I don't have time to cook, so Leela Thai is my kitchen. Their price is very inexpensive, the food is fresh and tasty . The people there are always helpful and friendly. When I walk in, they know my name and they know what I like. I love the egg plant, heavenly shrimp, and many more.... thai tea is so so good.

Best Thai Food. I tried all the thai restaurants in silverlake and hollywood and this is by far the best. The pad see-ew is my favorite right now but enjoy trying different dishes each time--plus no msg. The staff is friendly and really goes the extra mile to please. The vegetarian dishes are great plus the vegies are fresh and cooked just right. My friend really raves about the chicken satay I like to eat at the outdoor area with my friends but I call up for delivery when I'm lazy.

Amazing thai on the east side. Hate that they only take cash, but the foods great! Quick service too! Pad thai is awesome!!!!

I had to sit on the toilet for almost an hour after eating there. Putting mint in your fried rice is GROSS. This place SUCKS and I will never eat there again ever. Leela Thai is BAD FOOD.

-----13 Jul, 2009-----

I haven't been to Leela Thai in a couple years, I went there today for lunch. It was AWEFUL. The WORST food I've ever had. The ice-tea tasted like it was made with sugar and tap water and the waitress got in a huff because I asked to change it to a lemonade. Then my food was presented as if they just piled it on a plate with a shovel. It tasted gross, the pa thai was slimy and sweet, the pork fried rice was even worse, the pork was all fat and not even white. Noone was there the service was so slow I had to get up twice, once to ask for condements on the table and then to get a to go box and our check. I seriously have never complained about a restaurant in my life, this was so bad, the place needs to close down. I wouldn't go back if you paid me and all the food was free.
ten thumbs down. Don't eat at this place EVER.

Good, solid Thai food. It's like Thai comfort food! Warning! They take cash only, so come prepared.
