My family has a hodge podge of needs at a Mexican restaurant (even more so than normal) and I was glad to see that Tinga ticked most of the boxes. I love meat and beer, so the 'Carnitas Special' (4-7pm) had me sorted. My vegetarian wife avoids chilli, so the 'Cauliflower Rice Burrito' kept her happy (and happy wife, happy life). Unfortunately they don't have a specific kids menu, however a simple cheese quesadilla kept my young daughter busy. Service was good (chips and salsa delivered almost before we finished sitting down), and the food and drinks arrived quickly. A pleasantly decorated venue for an eclectic take on Mexican.

Good but not great. Girlfriend and I shared the Cochinita Pibil nachos and two shredded chicken tacos. It was a lot of food! The nachos were colourful and fresh. Huge plate. We liked them, but to me, the best nachos are simple -- these are a little too complicated. Maybe it was the "best nachos in LA" hype that made my expectations too high, also. I wanted the nachos to change my life, but they only changed my day. The chicken tacos were savory and fresh. I think I liked them better than the nachos. Then again, I'm a sucker for shredded chicken. Oh, and we rounded off the meal with Mexican cokes. The staff was friendly, efficient, and the prices were very reasonable. The atmosphere was open and airy. Would I go here again? Not soon, but maybe on occasion. For its type of food, it's the best in the area, but you can find more authentic things farther east.

Great food. Great drinks. Great service. Great art on the walls. It's also a pokestop ;) Get the dirty Horchata, Espresso with Horchata, It's the best. And the shredded beef burrito. I'm picky, but damn was this delicious! And it's quick too, so if you don't have a lot of time, this place is great.

Tinga is a modern day taco shop serving delicious tacos with a modern day twist. The place has a gastropub feel serving a variety of craft beers. My favorite item on the menu is not the tacos but the rice and beans they offer as a side dish. The best part is the servers are very informative about the menu and super friendly.

I particularly enjoyed Tinga for their gnarly artwork splattered all over the walls - raining tacos, tacos riding unicorns, 6-legged cats eating tacos! It's unique and definitely entertaining. I also enjoyed Tinga for their restaurant style ambiance for street taco prices. I was surprised to find entrees here for less than $10! I got the chicken tostado plate that came with two tostadas and chips and salsa. The chicken was moist and flavorful and did not need any additional salsa or hot sauce. The bf ordered their Coke infused shredded pork tacos topped with crushed chicharones. It was definitely interesting, but wasn't for me. The taste of Coke was so prevalent that it confused my taste buds. It's a nice change of scenery to get quality food at great prices in a sit-down type place.

I have been meaning to write this review for a few months now and after every tasty time we go to Tinga I tell myself to write it. So, earlier today as my family and I were enjoying another amazing meal at Tinga I felt compelled to finally start writting it. I had the Prime Flat Iron Steak (melt in your mouth fabulousness), my husband always gets the Carnitas (FTW amazing) and our teenaged twin boys both get the Genesis Burritos (which disappear and never any left overs). And the Cotija Cheese, the white cheese that is sprinkled on the beans, is a wonderful addition of authentic flavor. The staff is always accommodating and friendly, especially Brian and Bill. They always make us feel welcome and get everything just right. Modern day taqueria that we will be enjoying for years to come. Love it!!!!!

We've seen Tinga transition from a counter to full-service restaurant (building out an adjacent space in the process). Through it all, Tinga's food remains its best selling point. While others may debate about authenticity, I suggest focusing on the thoughtfulness and care taken with the food. In this discussion, the food shines. From what I can discern, Tinga makes everything from scratch, from the horchata to the chips, you can (extremely positive) impact of this restaurant's comprehensive view on flavor on each plate and drink put on the table. Tinga is family friendly and has solid options for sensitive palates as well as vegetarians. The addition of the magical cauliflower rice appeases those with a carb-restrictive mindset.

Great Tacos and the staff were very nice to a woman at the next table who did not enjoy pork in her burrito and re-did them.Duh, learn your meats. Fast service, clean and good salsas.

The food here is delicious! I definitely recommend the Pibil Nachos, Tinga Quesadillia, and the Short Rib Tacos, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu

One of my favorite sit down Mexican restaurants. Great food and drinks! The nachos are no joke. Its sad to see this place never super crowded.
