Review Delmonicos - Los Angeles

Alicia Lawrence
Whether your pleasure is steak or lobster, this is the place to go for either! This delicious steakhouse is situated right on Ventura Blvd., in Encino, CA. The customer service is second to none. Every dish we ordered was seasoned to perfection. We started out with a cup of Boston chowder and it was superb. Nice and creamy with chunks of clam and diced potatoes—the freshness was undeniable. We also had the crispy calamari, which was a perfect 10 for 10. My 15 year-old son had the surf and turf, lobster tail with filet mignon served with mashed potatoes and sautéed corn and devoured it within minutes. When he finally came up for air he gave it a 10 for 10. My 12 year-old daughter and my husband had the grilled sea scallops and shrimp with grilled corn in lime butter sauce and mashed potatoes and it looked absolutely delish! They both gave it a 10 for 10. I likewise had the shrimp and sea scallops but substituted my starch for sautéed veggies. Absolutely scrumptious!! For desert we had the chocolate cake with chocolate sauce (AMAZING!!!), the pecan pie with whipped cream (to die for!!!), and the super star of the day, the fresh apple tart a la mode! Now that dish??? INCREDIBLE!!! Would highly recommend this delicious restaurant.

The food we ate was great except the lobster bisque. Wasn't a fan of the richness and kinda gave ravioli vibe instead. But the cocktails were great and the rest of the food and dessert. I highly suggest you ask the waiters what they recommend if it's your 1st time. They are all great and fast servers. Food was freshly cooked so don't think your gonna get in and out fast. I think that was another thing I liked abt it that the food was really made to order from scratch. I even customize my plate for no extra charge.

We celebrated a birthday here. Very good food and atmosphere. We went for an early dinner and had an excellent time. The desserts were also amazing. Happy hour was also in progress and looked like a good time. Would definitely recommend this place for dinner!

Fantastic buffet brunch! Where are you going to get unlimited lobster tails, prime rib, raw bar, cold salads, breakfast, desserts, champagne, juice coffee for $55?! Such wonderful service and plentiful refills of champagne. Best value in Los Angeles he's by far!!

First off, shoutout to Chef Tony for the amazing food and hospitality! I didn't get their buffet but based on what I saw and for the price tag, it's pretty unbeatable! Come with All you can eat lobster and steak w/ mimosas I don't remember the name of the pasta but if you look at the picture it's the one with lobster. That one was amazingggg, my gosh lol. Just show that pic to your waiter and he'll tell you what that is and go get when you visit! Might be my new steak and seafood place in the San Fernando Valley :)

Great service, food and drinks amazing. I gave 4 stars cause I came for the first time, the opening from covid. I'm sure if times was normal I would give 5 star but I want to save that extra rating for when I go back which I most definitely would. Update absolutely amazing restaurant with the BEST staff and customer service. 5 Star all day.

Great atmosphere and service. The food was excellent. I had the surf and turf special with the ribeye (which was cooked perfectly) the had a buffet that looked amazing as well. The atmosphere was great. We felt private in our booth. I wouldn't show up in jeans, but a tie is not required.

Wow. This is a little gem. From the outside it is VERY UNASSUMING. An old style dining room that makes you feel like you're in New England. There is also an outdoor patio option for seating where there was live music. They have cute little booths with a curtain for privacy. They have a VERY EXTENSIVE BUFFET. Enough lobsters to make your eyes roll. Their food portions are huge and the lobsters were well worth it! My husband ordered the Dynamite Lobster, I had the Stuffed Delmonico Lobsters. Both 2 pounds. We also tried the clam chowder and calamari. The Calamari was well seasoned and very tasty. The clam chowder was good but not great. It was on the thin side and could use more clams and thickness. The lobsters were well seasoned and juicy. Their baked potatoes were amazing! All in all very good. I ordered one apple martini and I had a little buzz after the one drink! Nice pour from the bartender! We ordered the kids pasta and that was also delicious. All in all, we had a great time. Our server Gorge Ramirez was fantastic, on time and very accomodating. The host that seated us was also very accomodating and the manager came by to see how our experience was going. 5 star service, 5 star food and great atmosphere!

Always the best service, food and nice live music to complete the dining experience. Tony is great, Punam a very good host and the service staff friendly and attentive. Pecan crusted Halibut is so moist and fresh. My favorite.

Visited here for a work dinner! It was a large party of around 40 people, but the service was fantastic! I must say the star of my meal was the filet mignon. Perfectly cooked to order. Excellent cut of meat, moist and tender and full of flavor! I I also started my Mail life with the clam chowder, which was surprisingly much more enjoyable than I initially expected. It was very flavorful. The only thing that was just OK was the desert. I had the cheesecake and tried a coworker’s chocolate cake. Good… but, definitely not on the same level as the steak 🥩 Unfortunately, there was no street parking available at the time, so eight dollar valet parking was required. The restaurant itself is a bit dated. It likely won’t impress for date night, but still good eats.

I went for Sunday brunch with a group of 13 and was satisfied overall. I especially enjoyed my lobster and prime rib. I honestly thought most of their food options were delicious and I was happy to sip on bottomless "champagne" throughout the afternoon. I felt $52.99 was a decent value for the food options available. One minus was the awkward setup of the buffet line where the hot entrees were served. Only two employees were available to assist customers, which often caused a back up since they did not give us an option to serve ourselves if the employees were busy at other stations.

One of my all time favorite places. They always treat you well, even if you're not wealthy. Service is excellent - and not intrusive. The food - everything is excellent. My favorites are the Lobster bisque and their garlic bread and the osso buco (so tender and tasty). But I like to try different things. This time, it was the lobster linguini. I didn't expect an actual lobster tail - so that was quite a surprise. My friend decided that the end of the tail looked just like a butterfly - so here's the photo she took. My friend tried the vegetable puree soup - said it was almost better than the lobster bisque (if that could even be imagined). And my husband had the sea bass. Wow! Love that sauce - light, but very flavorful. See - everything is good. They are one of the few places left that still have very private booths. Almost like little rooms that can comfortably fit 2-6 people (depending on size, of course). There's even a curtain for extra privacy. How old-fashioned is that! They are serving in their previous, enclosed patio, as a well a large, outside patio converted from the parking lot.

My husband and I hadn't been back here for 3 or 4 years. It had been a very special place to eat. The food was always amazing. We returned there last night. It was a bit loud and the service was not very good. It had been an upper scale type of restaurant, where the waiter would recite these wonderful dinner specials, and you always felt like you were in for treat. Last night, there were no specials mentioned. Patrons were dressed in shorts, jeans, etc and there were quite a few young children around. It's a lot more casual now with a family atmosphere. Our waiter came and went (but mostly went) as any other would in a common chain restaurant. The food was good. I had twin lobster tails stuffed with crabmeat and shrimp, with steamed vegetables and a baked potato. My husband had filet mignon and lobster. As I said, the food was good. However, it was in line with the quality one might expect from a major restaurant chain. We spent about $200 on our meal, but in all honesty, it just wasn't worth the long drive and the expense. I've had better food at Black Angus, and better service too. I guess we have to find a new "special" place at which to eat because this place has lost its appeal. It's still a good place to eat, but not worth the high price tag. I'd rather eat the same food at Black Angus for half the price.

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner there, just the two of us! One dish was even better than the other. Our table server, Mario, was very attentative and efficient. Delomonico's, you never disappoint! Even the busboy was awesome!

I was there for my birthday on Friday evening, June 15, 2018 with a party of 9. The service was the worse that I have ever experienced for an upscale restaurant. Appetizers overlooked and delivered with entrees upon complaint, trying to find waiter and/or busboy for ordering 2nd cocktails, had to request more water and coffee refills, no one checking up on our table, no manager available to complain to, etc. etc. The evening was totally ruined as a result. Ironically, the restaurant wasn't even crowded for a Friday night.

We had a wonderful Friday night birthday celebration at Delmonico's. All of the staff were extremely friendly to us and the food was superb. The cocktails were large and wonderful and the tower of iced seafood was to die for! Thank you for years of consistent fabulous dining, whether it's a midweek meal or a Friday nite birthday celebration!

Love it! The most incredible buffet! Where else can one have 4 lobster tails for brunch!! Cooked to perfection. Wonderful staff and service! They even have made dishes NOT on the menu for my guests.

My family visited Delmonico's for our mother's 85th Birthday and the food was outstanding. I'd highly recommend the buffet. The only part that was a little lacking were the deserts which lacked flavor.

We went for thanksgivings dinner. We didn’t know it was a buffett. But honestly we all enjoyed the food! The lobster tails were excellent. Besides the good food, the service was outstanding! Our waiter Oscar met all or needs even before we asked!! He was there!

The best brunch I have ever ate! From the food to the service, top notch all the way.

The food was wonderful. My son & I ordered the Surf & Surf, my hubby got the Surf & Turf. It took a while to get a menu, I guess they thought we wanted the buffet.

I loved it, best brunch in Cali. Waiters were excellent, manager was awesome. He made my favorite salad that wasn't on the menu yesterday. I've been twice in 3 weeks.. will visit again very soon

Seafood with service. We are regulars at delmonico's for holidays, special occasions or even just a very nice dinner out. the wood paneling and individual full booths gives the place a very masquline private club feel. service is exceptional. the seafood is the best i've had in the valley. lobster, crab, oysters, shrimps, fish. my favorite is their stuffed crab protobello mushroom appetizer. i sometimes just have that with a salad or cup of soup....not for sharing...yum! : ) oh and dont forget the garlic bread. mmmm. Their sunday brunch is excellent as well...tops any vegas buffet!<br/><br/>jun09 - recently had the sunday brunch and the lobster is better than i remember. they now serve it 2 ways baked or broiled. yum! the prime rib was also cooked to perfection.

Very, very nice dining experience. This has become my traditional restaurant of choice when taking out folks to a special place to dine. I love that they have patio dining, too.<br/><br/>This is not just a lobster house, and they do not just serve seafood. However, it is the best seafood restaurant that I have found in the SFV, other than King's.<br/>They also serve steaks, chicken, veal and duck. I happen to love duck, and this is, again, the only place I know of where it is on the menu nightly. <br/><br/>They also have the best garlic bread. I've been told by one of the waiters that the chef makes the bread himself. The bread is the best I've tasted outside of Paris: crunchy crust and chewy, soft insides. The garlic bread is very, very good; made with olive oil, herbs and cheese. Nasty stuff really, if you're watching your carbs.<br/><br/>I also love oysters, and theirs on the half-shell are small and delicate; not the big, chewy Pacific monsters. A friend who ordered the Oysters Rockefeller (available on Mondays) said they were the best she's ever had. She was also enthralled with her salmon stuffed with shrimp and crab meat.<br/><br/>In addition to the food, the waiters are marvelous. Two, that I know of, speak French, and all who have served us have good senses of humor and are very attentive to your needs. I definitely suggest you put this restaurant on your list to try the next time you are taking friends out to dinner - or even for lunch.
