Review Viet Noodle Bar - Los Angeles

Got the ginger fish soup, it was very tasty. Service was quick too, even though there was only 1 server. Would definitely come back. It’s a little hole in the wall but nice and clean on the inside.

I wish I could give this place 10 stars. I LOVE their food. Do yourself a favor and order the turmeric fish noodle dish. They also have sardines and more than one vegan selection - jackfruit as well as tofu or vegetables. The understated space full of natural light is a nice change from the normal strip mall no ambiance feel of most quality Vietnamese places. Bahn mi is fine, good, but the other dishes rule.

I found this place while looking for a nearby place that sells pho and went as soon as they opened at 5pm for dinner. You have to street park with paid meters and the restaurant is a bit difficult to find in the dark due to no obvious sign and there's a small decal on the glass entrance. Two of our families got seated and I thought the place was extremely bare in terms of decor. If you asked me what kind of genre of food they might sell based on the inside, I'd have no clue, ha. Anyway, we got the menu and I was shocked to see a beef pho selling for $20.45 and all other dishes being at least $16. As an Asian, I've been to countless pho/Viet restaurants and prices are usually half of what you'd find here. I suppose Atwater Village area is too hip for my wallet. I ended up ordering that pho and a chicken rice dish. With one waiter handling both dine-in and take-out customers, we waited 20 min ish to get the food while the togo folks seemed to get their food faster. The pho was actually tasty and warm with good amount of beef. The rice dish was pretty decent, but I thought it was slightly bland. So after +40 dollars for two dishes and some for parking meter, I came out with my hunger satisfied but I still think it's too pricey compared to other Vietnamese restaurants. By the time we left, there were quite many customers dining in, but at first, it was dead silent without any music and waiting for food felt a bit longer. At least the food was tasty, enjoy!

Very nice lunch spot and friendly staff. If you stop by, please get the tumeric fish banh mi, it is a good price and very filling/tasty!

Very good. Tumeric fish and noodles was Great. A little dill was a surprise. Mild flavors, well executed. The pho is also very good. Best lunch I've had for awhile.

Delicious food, chill ambiance and super friendly staff. Highly recommended!

It’s good. Quality products. Unfortunately way too expensive ($25 for pho including taxes and tip) to be a sustainable favorite. Edit: the quality of the food has grown on me. I’ve eaten there over a dozen times now and I can see why it is priced the way it is. Star count updated accordingly.

I’ve been consistently dining at this restaurant for over five years. It always delivers quality food. People might say the prices are a little high, but the ingredients are so fresh, all natural, and no artificial flavors. Worth it everytime. Farat has been consistently gracious and professional. Everyone who works there has been so kind.

Great, homemade Vietnamese cooking. Simple, clean, and modern designed interior. Food is extremely delicious and authentic. I got hooked on this place and came 2-3 times a week for almost a month. Staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Highly recommended. Worth visiting if you're in the area or a short drive away.

Highly recommend this place. No waiting! I wish I would've gotten the soup but there's always next time.

Excellent quality here. Very delicate pho! I had pho a lot when living in Paris, which has a huge viet community. This one is above all of them. Organic products, transparency, kind service. Highly recommended!

The restaurant is a complete brick face, with a couple of wide open windows with no easy to see, easy to spot markings, revealing it as a restaurant. The picture you see? The lettering for the sign Viet Noodle Bar are all so small that you’d be forgiven if you missed it entirely. I only knew I was there when stopped, looked the address of the place up on my phone, and confirmed it by the Address numbers...which were decently large and easy to read.

Seriously, I thought the place was a Boutique at first. It just didn’t read “restaurant” when I waked up toward it.

Love that Viet!. I love it! The fish noodle and the spring rolls are the best! And I would drink the peanut sauce, I drizzle it on everything I get there.. Plus, Viet himself is awesome.. a really nice person. I crave this place about 3 times a week!!

Cute restaurant- set up communal style with long library tables. For those of you who want a bit more privacy, they also have smaller (more "intimate") tables. Not a fan of the Tumeric Fish Noodle. Fish had great flavors but the marriage of the ingredients fell short. The abundance of noodles accompanying the dish detracted from everything else. The veggie pho wasn't too shabby- served with just the right ratio of vegetables-noodle-soup. Well-balanced light broth, not too salty. Another thing, their fresh soy milk. Yum. Sad that it came in a small tumbler but still recommended! Lastly, their Sea Shot is fantastic. A concoction of (FRESH EVERYTHING): lemon juice, ginger, cayenne pepper, molasses (maybe???) TRY IT. Great way to jump start or/and wrap up your meal. Salud. Photo Credit: Viet Noodle Bar

although i probably wouldn't come back for another $10 bowl of this pho ga because i have a cute, older, round vietnamese woman cooking for me for free, i don't think this place is a bad place to turn to AT ALL for some pho ga....as long as you don't mind
