Review Killer Noodle Tsujita - Los Angeles

We got the Tokyo style with soup at level 1 and it was good. Not spicy and enjoyed the peanut buttery taste. Would probably try the standard spice level (3) next time. The chicken was divine! They were huge pieces and the sauces that came with it were so gas. Went at 1:30 and we had about 15 minute wait so not too bad.

I’m not a noodles person in general but this place had great noodles! Killer noodles - no pun intended. It is a bit on the heavier side, a lot of sauce / seasoning in the noodles but that’s what makes the flavor good. I got the Tokyo style (what they’re known for I think) without soup, and it was really good. I got pork on the side and the portion size was pretty decent size and came with white rice. There was peanut sprinkled over it and the noodles were thick and creamy. We also had the fried chicken with their variety of sauces as an appetizer which was good - its normal fried chicken. Would definitely come back here to get another noodle dish. The aesthetic of the restaurant is also pretty nice, it’s open and spacious and clean, located on sawtelle blvd in a super cute area with a lot of other Japanese restaurants and dessert bars. I would recommend getting noodles here if you’re looking for a place to go to in sawtelle!

Soo yummy! The sesame and peanut notes in the Tokyo style was great! I got level 1 numbing and level 3 spice (as I don’t love the numbing flavor). Food was hot and fresh but service was a bit slow—but they were packed so it wasn’t a big deal! Chicken karage was well seasoned and crispy (ginger dipping sauce was delightful). The original style ramen is vegetarian friendly and was surprisingly flavorful for how light it was.

First I don't like spicy food but I like peanut sauce. This restaurant have both and really good. The noodle was also not mussy. I had tokyo style without soup which very good and really tasty. The noodle also thick which I like it. The original with soup + 3 level spicy (normal) it's not really spicy and the soup also delicious and smell good but the noodle is bit thin, the The Gyoza also big fat and full of meat, the skin soft and thin. Price also reasonable.

Tsujita was founded in 2003 in Tokyo and the first ones came to America in 2017. This is one of their very few locations and it’s amazing. They do not accept reservations and it’s first come first serve so be prepared to wait a bit but it’s so worth it! They have different choices of soup and you can also order it without soup if you just want the noodles. I got the chicken ramen (not spicy) and it was fabulous. It comes with a fish cake on top, spinach, green onions, and menma. I order a poached egg on the side to add inside and it was the perfect touch. They have indoor and outdoor seating that has heat lamps close by for those cold fall and winter nights.

We had been to its sister restaurant across the street Tsujita ramen multiple times and loved it! But this one was even better! They specialize in spicy ramens broths. You get to pick the numbness level and the spice level and the order is a perfect reflection of the level that you pick. What we loved most was the availability of at-least 4 vegetarian ramen options. We got the Tokyo style which had a peanut-sesame broth with peppercorn and the veggie option which had a soy based broth. Both didn’t disappoint! Two large bowls were enough to get 3 people full because the quantity of noodles is a lot. The server was attentive and very proactive! We also liked the ambience of this place. Will return to try out the other options!

Killer Noodles is a delightful restaurant that offers an array of tasty dishes. During my visit, I had the opportunity to try their takoraki, pork buns, and customizable noodles, all of which left a positive impression on me. The takoraki, featuring Octopus, Japanese Mayo, Takoyaki Sauce, Bonito Flakes, and Aonori, was a standout. I was captivated by the skillful garnishing technique, and the flavor was pleasantly sweet. However, it's important to note that the takoraki comes out piping hot, so exercise caution to avoid burning your mouth. The pork buns, a simple combination of Bun, Pork, Cucumber, and Sweet Soy Sauce, were a perfect pre or post-noodle snack. They provided a sweet element that nicely complemented the main dishes. Speaking of the noodles, Killer Noodles offers a fantastic customization feature where you can determine the level of numbing and spiciness. I opted for the Tokyo style with a rich and creamy Pork and Chicken Broth. While I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, finding the ideal level of numbing and spiciness took some experimentation. The soup option proved helpful in mellowing the spice, making the noodles more enjoyable. Plus, it made for a refreshing drink once I finished my meal. The customer service at Killer Noodles was generally friendly, with attentive staff members who checked in on us at the beginning of our visit. However, there was a slight hiccup when it came to receiving our check and getting a to-go box. Despite finishing our food, it took about ten minutes for anyone to offer assistance, and we had to raise our hands to get their attention. In contrast, a larger group that arrived after us was promptly attended to, causing a minor inconvenience. This delay became problematic since the adjacent parking area only offers one hour of validation. As a result, we exceeded the validation period due to the wait, resulting in additional charges. It's worth mentioning that the other parking options in the area are paid timers on the street, making the adjacent parking the only "free" option. However, no signs indicated a cash-only policy, so I had to withdraw money from a nearby ATM, incurring additional charges. Quicker service from the waitstaff would have prevented these extra fees. Despite the minor service hiccups and parking-related issues, I have visited Killer Noodles on multiple occasions and intend to keep coming back whenever I'm in the area. In fact, I would even make the hour-long trip solely to dine at this restaurant. I just hope that the waitstaff can improve their efficiency in addressing customer needs to avoid additional parking charges in the future.

12/2023: This time, I tried the downtown style without soup. The noodles were good quality but the broth had an ultra concentrated tangy flavor. It was difficult to finish. I might try the Tokyo style without soup next time, but in general the soupy ramens seem to be a safer choice. 12/2022: So good. Tried both the downtown style and Tokyo style with soup. Both tasted great but I think I like the downtown style a little more. Level 3 for both spice levels was perfect for me; it ended up being slightly less spicy than Shin ramen. Fast service and good prices too.

In A Nutshell: -Killer Noodle Tsujita is a great place to grab some spicy soup + fried chicken. -I like the various options you can choose from their soups: Tokyo Style, Downtown Style & Original. -From those choices you can choose with soup or dry (without soup). -If you are hungry you can ask for a Large order vs. Regular. -Furthering your options are the various levels of spice & sichuan peppers. -You can choose from levels 0 to 6 on spice & numbness. -I went with a 3 on sichuan (numbness) + 5 on spice, which all turned out delicious. -You can also add extra items like cilantro, thin sliced pork & poached egg, which I recommend adding all three. -The service here is very friendly & knowledgable. Overall, this is a delicious place to grab some mouth-watering noodles.

I went to this place to try out the spicy noodles they offer. I like spicy food in general! BUT if you look for really spicy food, ask for the spicy Ramen with spice level 20. They warn you that most people cannot eat it (understandably) but I would compare this spice level a bit below the "samyang 2x spicy noodles" It was not on the physical card. It was good spicy but not extremely spicy. (Again this is from someone who loves very spicy that if makes u cry, regular spicy lovers should be cautious) The spice level 5 was more of a eatable spicy (in my opinion). I'd say a bit below the regular black samyang noodles. But the food is really presentable! Atmosphere is nice and toilets are clean. Side note: not sure if Sichuan was used, but in case it was, heads up. (I'm just not a big fan of it)

Delicious! The Karaage was excellent and I appreciated the variety of sauces: one serving comes with two of your choosing. I had the Tokyo style Ramen with broth at 0 spice (so rich!) and my friend had the Tokyo style Ramen without broth at level 2 spice. We both enjoyed it, and I also got super lucky with finding a metered spot right out front at lunch hour. If you drive onto the side streets, a bit closer to the freeway, there are more parking spots there.

Prepare your taste buds! They're in for a treat. The broth of the ramen is so rich here that it was almost too much. But it was amazing and so worth the visit. I love the spiciness customization. The pork bun was pretty good but not the highlight. The staff is nice and helpful.

super flavorful. Got the downtown and I’ve the Tokyo before, the downtown is better definitely. In the Tokyo style the peanut flavor overpowers the broth, but they taste similar. The chicken karaage is great too!! $9 for 8pc chicken, $16 for noodles

Came across this through recommendations from travel vlog! There was a little Que but the wait was manageable. Ramen was delicious and great for a chilly weather.

Surprisingly flavorful first time. We were slated to eat the hot pot place next door and the pungent spicy smells from the soup cause my grandmother to not be able to endure that meal so luckily we stumbled on the killer noodle. We don’t eat ramen often so this one was a pleasant surprise. Place was full but we got a seat right away. Staff was super friendly as we had so many demands, with so many different palates…

Unique Japanese ramen influenced by Chinese spices. Don't recommend 0 level spicy as it lacks flavor. At least get level 1 spicy and 0 numbness. Spice level is what you taste, while numbness is what hits you about 5 seconds later. It only contributes to the pain without adding flavor. Parking is painful even though complimentary 1 hour valet is included with validation. Due to the long wait (45 to 60 mins), prepare to spend 1.5 to 2 hours. Logistics can be improved significantly to better the dining experience. They still use a clipboard for the wait list. Make sure you pay attention to the soft voice of the host for your name. Food comes out uncoordinated (entrée before appetizer, additional cups/bowls for sharing drinks/food coffee after second or third reminder. Thin noodles come out before thick noodles. Server doesn't remember who the dishes belong to, etc. Having said that, if you like your Ramen sweat off your brow spicy, this is the place for you.

Delicious! I ordered the Tokyo Style (Peanut and Sesame Flavor, Rich and Creamy) without soup, with level 2 Numbness and level 2 Spiciness, and for what I needed that day, it was perfect. Normally I'd probably try spicier, but I also find that the spicier it is, the harder it is to taste the flavors, and with 2/2 it was on point. I normally enjoy soup noodles, but was recommended to go for the without soup option because it allowed for a more condensed flavor, and the spiciness level gave it just enough of a kick that left me needing a sip of water every now and then. It was good enough that I would definitely want to come back to try the Downtown Style and Original Style as well.
