Takao - Los Angeles - Photo album

I went to Takao every time I visited Los Angeles. Place is busy, however, service is still good. Omakase have 3 prices, $100, $150 or $200. I picked $150 version. Is a lot of food, loved sitting at the sushi bar.
I drop $480 for 2 people and I don’t regret it. The wagyu is so good!!!
Stop by for quick bite, it was quite busy when we got there but was able to get a table inside by the sushi bar. Everyone is super nice and helpful. We ordered Uni, Jumbo Scallop and couple other items which were all amazing! The Toro sashimi was delicious 😋 and it paired perfectly with the sake.
Great setting on the sidewalk. Went here for date night a second time. Love that it's nearby and that we can walk there and back. The service is excellent. Standout dishes include spicy eggplant, oysters, spicy tuna crispy rice with caviar, sliced wagyu, freshwater eel hand rolls, and the 10 assort
I found out about the place because of Netflix documentary Chef's Table and since then always wanted to go and meet Chef Takao and taste his food. I finally got to go and ordered the Omakase menu. It was a whole new and different experience and I got to taste really different Japanese dishes from wh
Sushi was fresh and everything tasted fantastic. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an authentic experience
Amazing assorted sashimi especially the blue fin tuna for $28 only. Pleasant service. Sometimes they have Saba (mackerel).
Food is delicious and fresh, I loved the chirashi bowl and red snapper. Our server kept getting the number of saki cups we needed wrong, and didn't refill our water, but was nice overall.
Fresh fish, perfect rice, and the friendliest service! I will come whenever in town. If you like authentic sushi, look no further.
My favorite Japanese restaurant in town. The skill and experience the owner and other chefs have are experienced in every bite.
Good food Amazing service The servers are very nice and really care about customers. Will be definitely back. The price was high for the ambiance but the food was really good so we didn't mind it.
The waitstaff is extremely kind and attentive, and the food is excellent for the price. I know that they have a devoted customer base, and after having eaten here a few times at this point, I can say that it’s well-deserved. Bravo.
This place is the real deal! A testament to the quality and flavors of a true Japanese cuisine.
We ate lite so didn't venture far into the menu; that didn't keep us from admiring the BEAUTIFUL things distributed to fellow diners over the night or overhearing pleased diners who enthused openly (sometimes loudly) over something delicious. When I entered most of the tables had reserved signs. The
Had a wonderful experience here. Ordered a few appetizers and a variety of sushi dishes and everything was delicious. Definitely more on the traditional side, they dont have fancy sushi rolls, mainly hand and cut rolls. Highly recommend.
