Review Pho Cafe - Los Angeles

Amy Kopplin
Delicious! Came into LA after a long day of traveling, and had a craving for Vietnamese. The Bun Cha Gio Thit Nuong was amazinggg! The beef was so tender and the nuoc cham sauce was the perfect blend of spicy, sour, sweet. Fresh herbs really complimented it nicely, and the crispy rolls were delicious as well. If I lived in the area, this would be my go-to spot!!

Bun with lemongrass steak, shrimp and eggroll. Tasted pretty authentic, service was quick. My friend got one of the crepe dishes which looked really good! I want to try it next. Just be aware that they give you the rice papers to go and you must dip them in warm water to prep/hydrate them yourself.

This place needs more stars! Great takeout option! Ordered Pho Café for a work lunch with coworkers. It was fast, delicious, and hit the spot. Will definitely keep it as a quick option. Loved every bite!

One of the best vegan pho options in Los Angeles. The broth had so much body and depth.

Ordered delivery from here off of Uber eats, was surprised how good the broth was and the meat too. My sister agreed that it was quite delicious and we love quality pho. Was surprised to see that the Google rating was on the low side. I think it's def better.

the pho ga was very tasty. my first pho. I ordered for pickup at night and it was very hard to find due to poor lighting in the area, a tight little parking area, and the fact that the place has NO sign indicating it's Pho Cafe. I was literally so hangry trying to find this place. Please put a sign up and save the next person the headache.

Please switch back to the original noodles! Love this place, but this time noticed that they changed the noodles to a thicker / less rice-like lower quality noodle. I’m hoping this is a temporary supply chain thing and not a permanent cost cutting measure. Please bring back the noodles!

The food is delish and these people are very hygienic and quick. I ordered/picked up my food, so many times during pandemic, never late or any trouble what so ever. I don't think I will ever say no to this place till I live in LA. Highly recommend this place.

Completely second the other review I saw raving about the vegetable pho. A good one is hard to find, but theirs is delicious. (Though I still recommend using the sauces that come with.) I've seen some complaints about the listed pricing--I didn't have that experience, but I ordered through a third party, so maybe double-check the price before you commit, if you can.

Delicious Pho, one of the best ones I have had outside of Vietnam.

I eat a lot of pho. This is by far the tastiest in the city for it's price range. Ambiance is poopoo. Service is meh. It's cash only. Don't care. You will not eat better pho in LA, fight me irl.

This was apparently the best pho restaurant around the Silverlake area. I wouldn’t be surprised because the restaurant literally had no sign & still managed to bring in lines of people, full tables & bags of takeout along the counter. Claims to have pieces of filet mignon in the pho, and yes the meat was soft, also super scarce so it’s pretty believable

Decent pho, good price Cash only and not a very big place. They were fast service in spite of it being very busy

This is a terrible place. The food is not good and it's expensive. If you want to eat the best Vietnamise food go to Phoso 1 in Gardena

Food is great. Everythig is.... Food is great. One of my favorite restaurants. Everythig is fresh. Try the lemonade. Service is prompt. Cash only.

Menu is simple, but the food is good. It's a cash only joint, so be prepared.

Pho Cafe is Just Okay. Went there for lunch today with my son. We got there at 12:15 PM and there was no crowd so we were able to get the "feel" and "mood" of the place a few minutes before the lunchtime bustle. I had the Beef Pho with tendon and tripe, while my son had the Chicken Pho. We both agreed that the flavor of the soups were nothing to rave about, but nothing to criticise either. The pho at Golden Deli in San Gabriel is more flavorful, rich, with bigger portions of meat, while Pho Cafe offers a "short and to the point," kind of approach in its bowls with nominal flavor and mere slivers of cuts compared to Golden Deli. For appetizers, we ordered the spring rolls with lemongrass steak and shrimp. My son prefered these over Goldens Deli's crisp and rich egg rolls. Pho Cafe's spring rolls are refreshing (surf and turf with white rice and herbs) especially in the afternoon to cool you down on a hot day. By 12:30PM a few of the locals started to trickle in with the waiter staff noticeably becoming more busy with preparing more glasses and less on attending to our needs at the tables. The staff is minimal in its hospitality (nominal warmth in hosting, no smiles, but dutifully accomodating) with a hint of pleasantness when you finish giving your order. Parking was available during lunchtime, but because of the obscurity of its location (it's nestled within a strip mall with no obvious sign) we parked on the street (metered parking with an hour for every quarter you put in the meter). The atmosphere was definitely minimalist chic with high ceilings, orange chairs, tables for two, and an echo that permeates the room causing you to start chattering over each other as you converse over your meal. The beer list is pretty diverse in selection (Singha/Thai, Red Stripe/Jamaican, 333/Vietnamese, Tsingtao/Chinese, Corona, Heineken, etc) and great for meeting up with buddies who like to throw back a couple of cold ones after work. If you're looking to take a date to a quiet place and speak in whispers and hushed tones, this place is not the place to go to. The tables are very close to each other so there is no "personal space" if you're someone who feels uncomfortable sitting so close to strangers. However, this is a great place for singles or extroverts looking to meet new people, strike up conversations, and to spot eye candy (two attractive women sat next to us). <br/>All-in-all, Pho Cafes strong points are twofold: a good place to get the bare-bone minimal--a decent, hot bowl of Vietnamese soup to fill you up and to "people watch/socialize" in a hip vibe with good beer and cheer with friends .

Ummm..have you people had GOOD pho?. This place is just OK. The pho is bland, and many times "old" tasting. When you order to go, they put the beef in the broth and it gets over-cooked. Duh! The service is trendy (read "don't bother me with stupid questions"). The decor is classroom chic....and let me tell you, you don't look that good under that many fluorescent tubes. Try Indochine Vien in Atwater...much better....well everything!

Hmmmmmm. This place is really tasty and i like the minimal decor and yes, i do like the silverlake hipsters who slurp up their pho there. its all part of the experience.

If you ever find yourself up in Echo Park or Silverlake, take some time to stop by the Pho Cafe off Sunset Blvd. This place is nondescript, doesn't have any signage outside, but this place is wildly popular, especially amon
