Review Davenport's Restaurant - Los Angeles

First time here won’t be the last. Beautiful restaurant with casual yet elegant decor. The prime ribeye was perfect as was one of the best cheeseburgers. Grilled shrimp and lobster bites appetizers were delicious. Very efficient and very friendly staff made our Christmas Eve dinner amazing.

THERE IS ONLY 1 NUMBER ONE !!! While there are many hidden GEMs located all over CA, this restaurant is a Hidden TREASURE CHEST of AMAZING FOOD!!! We were welcomed right away as we walked in and received great service throughout our visit. Our server JENNY was very helpful, attentive and made some great recommendations. The owner also visited us a few times to make sure we were enjoying our visit. We started with ULTRA delicious appetizers: First was the very cheesy and Extraordinarily delicious Signature Lobster Bites!!! Highly recommended!!! One of the BEST Appetizers I have EVER had!!! Then we also truly loved their Jumbo Blackened Shrimp which is grilled and blackened to perfection. These KING size shrimp are very delicious!!! Another delicious and freshly made appetizer is their Spicy Crispy Tuna which is served with an artistic flair. And you must try to make room for their ultra delicious French Onion Soup!! Just split it with your partner to make space for this soup… it truly has a very rich delectable flavor! Their Jalapeño Bacon Mac n Cheese was good but not as amazing for me. Too Al Dente for my taste. For salads: Try either the Lobster Cobb salad which was very fresh, flavorful and lite. Their Caesar salad has a very unique flavor too. Our entrees were AMAZING too! Their ULTRA Signature Meal was their Miso Chilean Sea Bass!!! OMG!!! I have tried Chilean Sea Bass from many high end locations through the US and this IS The Best EVER!!! No exaggeration!!! For one it’s ULTRA tender and the MISO glaze takes the flavor to the Moon and Back!!! It’s a Guaranteed Winning Plate…which I must order again and again. Their USDA Prime Filet Mignon was ULTRA tender and just melts in your mouth with every bite. Having a side of their very addicting French fries is a great choice too. Their Baby Back Ribs are very tender and have great flavor too. For dessert, highly recommend their NY CHEESECAKE which is sooooo smooooth and rich in flavor!! Our son’s eyes LIT UP with their very delicious ICE CREAM too!! For great drink choices, the Mamie Taylor or the Hemingway are very refreshing. The Mezcal Old Fashioned is very delicious and unique.

Had the best time celebrating a birthday. Fantastic food. Great space. Shannon was so attentive and nice. She knew the menu well and was able to guide us in ordering the perfect meal. She made a great sundae for the bday which perfected the entire experience. Will definitely go back. Thank you.

Definitely worth a 5 star review. Nice ambiance, friendly and efficient service and very good food. My Chilean sea bass was fantastic and the salads were fresh and flavorful. We’ll be back again soon.

Without a doubt, five out of five stars. Clean restaurant and well-maintained restrooms, large menu - both food and drinks, and every employee was very helpful and pleasant. The owner and his son, the chef, actually took the time to come talk and see how the food was and they were incredibly nice and conversational. Definitely the BEST sea bass I have ever had in my life - it melts like butter in your mouth! The lobster appetizer is also very tasty and not something you could just order anywhere - the chef has his own spin on the way he prepares it! Absolutely delicious!

Beautiful patio, fantastic food - and very safe & clean during COVID restrictions. This place is perfect for special occasions! Also - was impressed by our waiter’s suggestion for an off-menu drink to compliment dessert (East India Company cocktail with the banana cream pie).

My bf and I came here for dinner. We get there and we had the option to sit inside or outside. It was a lovely evening so we decided to sit outside. They had the patio lights which made the ambiance more romantic. The waiter was very sweet and helpful. We order the lobster mashed potato as an appetizer and it had a citrus flavor that blended well with the lobster. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and my bf ordered the pasta with seafood. The Chilean Sea Bass was the star of the night lol. It melted like butter in my mouth. It was cooked to perfection. I paired it with a glass of wine. Delicious! Can't wait to be back.

Came for a birthday dinner on a Thursday night. Parking can be found on the street or in the lot behind the restaurant. Service was good; we went to the bar to wait for our other friends and it was good. They offer a full bar. Initially they wanted to put us in a table outside but it was dusty so we moved inside. The bread is great (they offer regular bread and corn bread) with butter. We had the lobster bites with bread and it was good. For the main course ordered the Filet mignon, cooked medium plus (between medium and well but more on the medium side, pink throughout) with street corn and the mac n cheese. Everything was good; the mac n cheese was a bit too hot to eat, even after a few minutes. For dessert, had the brownie sundae and baklava cheesecake. Brownie sundae was awesome; didn't have the baklava cheesecake but it looked good. Bathroom was clean; bonus points if you can find the second stall!

I would have rated Davenport's 4.5 stars but you can't give half stars. The only reason for this is that we had a reservation for 8:15pm and weren't seated until just after 8:30pm. I get that places can get busy and reservations can be hard to manage but this is a higher-end restaurant so I expect a little more. Other than that, everything was excellent. This was our first time here. Our waitress great and made fantastic recommendations from drinks to appetizers and main dishes. We started with oysters. Then had the lobster bites which were awesome. Burata and beets were delicious and the Italian soup was perfect for a cold night. The filet mignon was prepared perfectly. We ended with the banana cream pie that was awesome. Will definitely go back again.

So if you're not familiar with the area, the parking lot is in the back so don't worry about parking your car in the streets! Right when I walked in the staff was very welcoming. It was my first time here and was very impressed on how it looks inside. The food was amazing. They had a wide variety of seafood and steaks. I personally ordered the Tomahawk pork chop and their signature lobster bites. The next time I visit I'll probably try their sushi and their cocktails. Highly recommend this place to anyone :)

What a treat to visit Davenports! Parking is a little tricky as they do have a designated parking lot, however it's a full lot. Make sure you bring in your ticket as they do validate and if you forget it, it'll cost you $$$. I've been here several times and have loved it each time I've come. If you are looking for that Happy Hour crowd, keep looking as they are not that kind of a restaurant, however they do offer $3 off drinks (not sure if it's all drinks or just wine). Last night my girlfriend and I went and sat at the bar, I ordered the chicken salad with the dressing on the side and she ordered the beet with burrata cheese. Both dishes were equally good, fresh and the perfect size. The restaurant also has outdoor dinning and has a "magical" patio that has the perfect ambiance. If you are looking for a nice, upscale restaurant in Encino, then I would tell you to look no more. You will not be disappointed.

Went for a holiday lunch. Had the Hickory burger; it was really delicious, cooked medium, with crunchy onions rings and bacon. Banana Cream Pie with Biscoff Crust was so good; thick, creamy and not too sweet with crunchy caramelized sugar. It's a beautiful place, but not typically somewhere I'd go. It's not layed back; it was pretty quiet and staff was friendly but seemed pressured to be really professional. There's parking in the back lot. The interior design is pretty, they also have a bar

If I could give Davenport's 6 stars I would... As soon as we walked in the door I was impressed with the vibe. My girlfriend and I were seated in the booths, which were plenty for two people. Props to them on the TVs as well as I was able to watch the game while eating (Sorry Babe )! You can pretty much see the TVs from anywhere inside. We had the Grilled Shrimp appetizers to start off with. 5 nice sized shrimps. Usually I'm not a fan of white sauce but I didn't mind the one that came with! Pretty good! My main dish was the Southwestern Skirt Steak (medium well) which also comes w/ an enchilada! Plenty of food once you factor in the rice and spinach... As a meat connoisseur I loved this dish! The thing that really stood out about this place was the fact that the owner (Carl) came and checked on us throughout the night. Not only was our waiter attentive but the fact that the owner and other staff checked on us throughout the night is what made this place great. As my girlfriend and I were getting ready to ask for the bill, Carl came back over to our table asked how our meal was (GREAT). He then offered us a Banana Pie dessert on him! And that too was amazing! You don't come across this kind of service at every restaurant. I appreciate that so much about Davenport's! We will without a doubt be coming back! I've already told other people about how great this spot is... Thanks again Mr. Davenport!

This place has mostly positives, but the food was a bit of a disappointment. It's a very comfortable and somewhat romantic interior. The service was especially good and attentive. The food however was not that great. The lobster in the lobster cobb was not fresh and you could tell. Make it fresh and we'll be back.

I hosted a private dinner event and worked with Melissa, Matt, & Chris and had a wonderful experience! The appetizers were brought out quickly and orders were taken seamlessly before the speaking engagement began. Myself and all my guests has such a great experience and I can’t say enough about the level of service from Matt and Chris throughout the evening! Food was delicious too, Thank you!

First time to Cali. This place was recommended. Food was absolutely delicious. I also ran into Bill Belamy clearly in a tourist. They sat us immediately (wed) I would definitely recommend this restaurant. I had the tomahawk entree. And dessert banana pudding again delicious. We ate outside and the heaters were perfect. Our waitress have us recommendations and she was so friendly. She truly put the topping on the cake.

The service was a bit slow, but food was worth waiting 😅 We finished everything so fast that I didn't had a chance to take a picture. I only got one of Crème brûlée we ordered for a dessert. It was good I only wish the top was a bit more crunchier 👀

We introduced two sets of neighbors to this place last night and it was every bit as delicious and perfect as our first time!! This is THE place to go in the Valley for a hip setting with outstanding food and service! Picked up a gift certificate for my daughter while there, too! Do NOT miss the lobster bites appetizer if you like lobster!

The staff was super friendly and helpful when they were around. Honestly, the staff was confused (from check-in to paying the bill), the wrong people were being served someone else's food and the table next to us was given the wrong bill. It was chaos last night. We ordered two drinks, a salad and a sandwich and it took 50 minutes to get our food. At one point they brought over another tables food. I will wait until the kinks are ironed out before I return. Too bad, I was really looking forward to eating there.

Ambiance was great, I recommend the lobster bites, filet mignon was delicious, our cocktails were delicious, Our waiter Mitchell was attentive we sat outside nice music, we will be back..

That decor blows you away, the food is incredible and the staff is even more incredible. This is just not a restaurant for the valley but a restaurant for the entire city, top-notch all the way

Amazing, the staff, the host, the chefs, the bartenders deserve 10 stars, the atmosphere is phenomenal, the patio area is so relaxing, the food was very delicious, definitely coming back.

The Texas Beef Ribs is the best and most tender ribs I have ever tried. The service is outstanding. Ambiance is perfect. I have been telling my friends that they must try Davenport's.

Sinatra, martinis, & steak sandwich’s. What’s not to love? Great atmosphere, excellent menu & friendly/professional service. Leave the kids home and enjoy Encino’s new sophisticated, night spot.

A friend and I randomly walked into Davenport's for lunch because we were in the area. I saw it as a new restaurant doing a modern take on traditional dark steakhouse type places. The food and service were good, and the jazz standards playing at an unobtrusive volume in the background provided very nice ambiance.

It was my birthday yesterday me and my boyfriend found this restaurant on yelp, it was our first time going here, the food was amazing and the service was perfect we couldn't have asked for a better night and restaurant. We will be returning. 😘

Been here a few times now, and it never disappoints. My problem is that I so liked what I’ve had in the past, I struggle to not order the same dishes again!
