Review Little Fatty's - Los Angeles

I’m surprised how much I love my experience at Little Fatty. It’s a Taiwanese restaurant but it made me feel so American inside. However the drinks and food are amazing! You MUST order the Chinese Pork BBQ, it’s the highlight of the night. Their cocktails are so delicious as well. Gratefully, street parking was easy for us. And you definitely should make a reservation ahead of time.

Fatty noodles and beef roll are the best dishes we tried!!! also tried general tso’s cauliflower, kung pao chicken, garlic noodles)Atmosphere is fun, loud, and very bar-like since the bar sits at the center. Definitely would recommend making a reservation to avoid waiting or sitting outside

So Good! I ordered orange chicken, dumplings and vegan thick noodles. Everything was delicious. The vegan noodles come with a garlic sauce and it's intense, which I like. Not recommend for first dates or if you are going out after, you breath will still smell like garlic even if you try brushing your teeth, lol.

I ❤️ Taiwan 🇹🇼. Being Taiwanese, yet raised here in WestLA, I appreciated their Taiwanese-Chinese fusion dishes. Definitely not my mom's or grandma's Taiwanese dishes, but a modern and fun spin on traditional dishes. They recently opened a full bar and the place was packed Saturday night (90 min wait without reservations) at 7pm. The drinks were creative and fun. For me, I ❤️ the Taiwan Lager. My fav.

4 stars for the food: I visited Little Fatty the first time in Oct 2021, and every dish my friend and I had was nearly perfect (some were a bit salty). I was especially impressed with XO Fatty Noodles—rolled chow fun was crispy outside yet tender—and General Tso’s Cauliflower—sweet-sour coating was crispy and flavor was spot on. Before my friend and I visited Little Fatty again in 2023, my friend said she had visited the restaurant 7 times during this period and the food quality, especially the Fatty Noodles, has been inconsistent. So this time we didn’t get Fatty Noodles, but still had General Tso’s Cauliflower along with Walnut Shrimp and two noodle dishes. Cauliflower’s coating was indeed unevenly crispy. Walnut shrimp was crispy, sweet, and tender—my favorite dish of the night. Noodles in Taiwanese Sunday gravy was chewy and tender. Mocktails here have been one of my favorites—creative and flavorful. Despite the inconsistencies in food, Little Fatty is a magical Taiwanese restaurant. The food here is a combination of everyday street food and dishes that are less common yet with the Taiwanese flavor we are familiar with, all with different levels of fusion twist. With a bar inside the restaurant, Little Fatty has an amazing vibe—trendy, stylish, energetic—and is perfect for occasions where you want to have a lively chat and good laugh with family and friends at night. The diversity of customers in Little Fatty is unseen in other Taiwanese restaurant, perhaps except for Ding Tai Feng. It’s always an awe for me to see how seemingly local Taiwanese food is so welcomed by people from different cultures.

Good place, pretty busy on a Thursday evening, sat at the bar. Had chicken noodles, very hot and fresh. A little oily but that's the style. I would eat here again.

I like this place. Food is good it's Taiwanese family style food with a bit of a modern fusion flavor. Service is excellent and generally there is plenty of parking on around the area. Try a variety of plates family style. The bartending is excellent and you can actually bring your own wine for corporate fee of $25 per bottle.

Hip, delicious, and great for big eaters. To me it seems Little Fatty may have gotten its name from the portion sizes, so do make sure to bring all your foodie friends. They have a great range of menu accommodations from non-drinkers to veggies to serious meat eaters. We definitely over ordered for two but it made for great leftovers. We had the Scallion Pancakes, General Tso’s Cauliflower, Uncle Lin’s Fried Rice and the Sizzling Beef. Everything was super yummy. I’d been here once before and during that visit I pretty much tried everything on the menu thanks to our large party order. I can say that you likely won’t be disappointed. I recommend making reservations because this place is always poppin, but if you have a small party, you may be able to sneak in! Metered parking close by on a not-too-busy street so plan a little ahead so you can find a spot. Once you’re in, sit back, order a cocktail and enjoy!

The dishes were flavorful and delicious. When we got there for our reservation we were sat right away but essentially told we only have an hour to eat and they need the table back for other guests. Very trendy place and I get that but made for a rushed experience and we skipped out on dessert in fear of getting kicked out in the middle of it.

The environ was more like a bar (with very loud music - beware if you wanted to have a conversation with someone). Service was friendly. Foodwise we tried the shaking beef (relatively tender), xo fatty noodles (the rolled noodles were unusual and interesting), and Asian greens (my fav of the three). All had nice flavors but a bit too greasy (“fatty”).

We stumbled upon Little Fatty while looking for a place to grab a drink. Although we just finished dinner we couldn't resist the food we saw...delicious Chinese dishes with a twist. The cocktails were great as well.

Wow the food here was so good. I was impressed from the start when even sitting at the bar the server made sure all our utensils were laid out perfectly. Reminds me of the scene in The Bear where they say if you chase michellin stars you have to care about EVERYTHING. We got a few food items. The main courses were very good but the wantons were amazing - some of the best food I've ever had.

Fun, hip vibe and good cocktails. Good service. Food OK but not really traditional Taiwanese flavors. A little less sodium and saucy seasoning would go a long way.

Such a COOL place! This is definitely “elevated” Taiwanese food and so delicious, not heavy or greasy as some I’ve had from other places! Although the food is delicious, the bar is EXCELLENT! Loved the cocktails…the Fungi is their take on an Old Fashioned and I highly recommend it!!

My boyfriend and I went here for the first time after seeing it featured on KABC. We were on our way to going bowling and passed by it. After bowling stopped to try it out. Restaurant was packed, but was able to grab a seat at the bar after a couple left. The menu selection was plentiful and the food was good! Also, loved the service, atmosphere and music. Glad we took a chance. We'll be back.

Friends took me here last week and I’m a little upset it took so long. Little Fatty is wonderful. The space itself is very cool: a great bar, roomy tables, and a cool glimpse into the carry-out operation that seems massive. The restaurant is well staffed with servers and runners being hyper-efficient and friendly. The food does not disappoint. We shared what felt like too much food, but it was so good we crushed just about everything. The Walnut Shrimp was excellent, as was the eggplant. But the Taiwanese Sunday gravy is a truly special dish. The noodles are cooked perfectly no the depth of flavor in the ragu is remarkable. Great food and great experience.

Cocktails = 4-5 stars, small dishes = 3-4 stars, larger dishes = 4 stars, dessert =5 stars. The cocktails were very pricey but tasty and nicely presented. The cucumbers, popcorn quail and mushroom lettuce wrap were great. Squid ink XLB skin was a little thick but tasty; long beans were okay; roasted pork leg baos were tasty but very messy and hard to manipulate (cut into size appropriate for buns); General Tso cauliflower (meh). The taro ice cream with the warm sesame mochi balls was so good (5 stars) and enough to share for 4 people.
