Review Ta-ke Sushi Restaurant - Los Angeles

What a great dining experience! Family owned and you can feel the love and pride of ownership in each dish. We tried many things including gyoza, salmon skin roll, hamachi, mushroom miso soup (extra yum). Everything was good and the family were so nice. This is a traditional style Japanese restaurant so don’t come in asking for nobu style service. Learn the traditions and respect the service , then you will truly appreciate the dishes.

I visited Ta-Ke around 9pm on a Sunday for the first time. The restaurant itself is quaint and cozy. Very intimate seating only a small sushi bars and a few two-top tables along a mirrored wall. I sat at the sushi bar and ordered the: 10pc omakase. Omakase means to entrust the chef to give you the best of the best of what they have available to offer that evening and let the chef prepare it how he wants. They asked me if I had any allergies or aversions, to which I answered, “no” and the night began. Chef is an older gentleman but an expert. His fluid movements packed each piece of nigiri perfectly and you could taste each grain of rice falling apart against the palate. I recommend visiting and letting chef prepare your meal at his discretion. He knows what he’s doing. Just don’t forget to buy him a beer! Disclaimer: I am not a good critic, I’m just a guy posting his own OPINIONS.

Very cute and authentic. Took me back to Japan. Fresh fish. I had the omakase and a spicy tuna roll. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area

Excellent sushi, good portions, you can feel the freshness of their food. Definitely worth it and I’ll recommend it.

Best Sushi I've had so far in LA. Granted I moved here a little over a year ago but authentic, cozy, and spectacular are the words I'd use for this restaurant

I found out after I walked up to the front of the door that there is parking available in the rear. The inside is really tiny, I'd guess they might get packed on some weekends. The menu is a little small outside of the big sushi selection. But its well made, the portions made me full, and it was the best eel bowl and tuna roll I've ever had in my life. It is just a little bit pricey, so I can only afford to come on rare occasions. It's in between Beverly hills and west Hollywood so I understand. Would love to come again and try their other menu items.

Oh man ! love this place so much, my friends started a ritual where they go every Monday. i decided to join them and had an amazing experience. Was a little busy and the space is small but worth any small wait. The front bar where the master sushi chef greets you and makes the most unbelievable sushi. The quality was unbelievable. We also had the Cold Soba which was my first time and i was blown away by the freshness and style, was like cold ramen that you dip (didn’t take a picture we ate it so fast) . My buddy got the chicken teriyaki which was ok i took a bite but was not the best thing we ordered. Overall was a great experience and so many more options to try. They have combinations on the menu so you can get a meal with all the sides for a decent price. They ended up giving us a free saki on the house for the wait which was very kind. oh lastly the dessert we had was a special rice with a raw egg they give you (not sure if it was a dessert) but wow was definitely unique and was an exotic new dish (the video i posted is us mixing the egg in the rice) . was very happy

Without a doubt my favorite sushi place in LA. No need to wait in line at sugarfish. This place is FRESH, professional and authentic And as for all of the reviews about "bad service", I must strongly disagree. It's refreshing to finally be served by someone who isn't made of LA plastic and actually focuses on nothing but the food. The chef is an artist. Rainbow roll is amazing.

Me and some friends picked this place at random off the map because it had a heart on its sign. LOL. So glad we did. Welcoming atmosphere. Cozy bar with good sake. Super attentive, friendly service. And fantastic Omakase! I'm sorry I don't have any photos to post of the sushi. I ate the food too fast. Haha. We will definitely be back.

One of the BEST sushi spots in LA. Our go-to constantly. Delicious fresh fish, beautiful ambiance, casual but homey. A must go if you’re a sushi lover.

Sushi on the Srtip. I like that I can walk across the street and have good sushi and at a reasonable price on the Sunset Strip. I have tried their Ramen "good", Spicy Tuna "okay", Chicken Teriyaki Lunch Box "Great" - I have heard that their Spicy Tuna Bowl is good, but haven't had the chance to try that. We (the team) here at Urbanspoon enjoy having lunch at Ta-ke -

Ta-ke Sushi. Lunch Mon-Fri: 12pm-2:30pm; Dinner Sun-Thu: 5:30pm-11pm, Fri-Sat: 5:30pm-1am.

A college friend and I ate our way through the entire menu at this cozy sushi bar, sitting directly in front of the chef as he skillfully, artistically prepared each order. As two assistants constantly brought him more ingredients, he explained to us the health benefits of the sushi. A wonderful time! Definitely will return!
