Review Sari Sari Store - Los Angeles

The Lechon Kawali is very unique and savery food. This dish is something I'd recommended to everyone. The atmosphere of the market was very lively. The coconut pie was also really good as it has just the right amount of coconut flavor and sweetness.

Located inside the Grand Central Market. Structure and street parking are available. This place has limited bar seating. Menu is also limited. Great place to have dessert. I ordered their adobo chicken but got lechon chicken instead. I ate it because I was really hungry. Their lechon chicken was too sweet for me. It tasted like teriyaki chicken.

Food was excellent. Tried the grilled pork belly and snagged a side of the soy sauce to go with it. There was quite a bit of a wait, but worth it. The market is loud and seating is limited.

Pork ribs were delicious! Beer was 4$ and in the plaza there was a group playing Mexican music! Such a good atmosphere to finish a long day around LA.

It’s actually a five however they change the flavor of halo halo, and the texture really is different. The food was nice especially the arroz caldo. If you are craving for Filipino food this the place to be.

Having tried Filipino food for the first time, my girlfriend and I tried this spot at the grand central market and like many places, it was pretty awesome! The atmosphere is very much busy-like LA full of food places and people. The food can be a bit pricey but is worth to try. I suggest the Halo-Halo dessert, it's a one of a kind!

This Filipino restaurant exceeded all my expectations! The service was impeccable; the staff were knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations. Now, let's talk about the food – it was an explosion of flavors in every bite. Each dish was a masterpiece. The ambiance was cozy, creating a perfect setting for a memorable meal. I'll definitely be returning for more!

Wish we had more Filipino food options in Dallas! Got the Sisig fried rice. It was really tasty, but a bit too salty for my liking. Would come back and try other dishes next time!

Fantastic. The pork belly is on point. Crispy outside and moist and mouth watering on the inside. The house soda is kalaminsi juice. Perfectly done. We also got the eggplant. It too was yummy. The only thing is it comes with a fried rice and the fried rice was a little bit more on greasy side. Otherwise I would do it again with regular steamed rice, next time.

After browsing the options at Grand Central Market, this place stood out to me because it's hard to find Filipino food where we live. We got Lechon Kawali & Lumpia. Both were fantastic. The Lechon Kawali was my favorite dish that we got at the market. The pork belly was crisp and tender, and the egg/pickled veggies/sauce were the perfect combination of flavors. I would go back and get it again now if I weren't on the other side of the country. I highly recommend checking this spot out! Their Halo Halo look really good and I regret not getting it.

we got sisig and halo halo! the sisig had a good spice to it but was on the smaller side. the halo halo was really good, I loved the fresh fruit! overall very tasty :)

Wanted to try Filipino cuisine and stopped by at Sari Sari in Grand central market. Adobo Chicken fried rice came with fried egg on top. Would eat here again.

This spot has the best Halo Halo I know of in LA right here at Grand Central Market! The staff is friendly and I heard their Lechon Kawali "Pork Belly" is to die for as well. Plenty of seating inside or outside. Parking is currently $4 inside the market's parking structure.

First time having Filipino food. Got the tortang talong and loved it. But wish there were more veggies in it.

Really cool way to make Filipino fried rice with some of the favorites like sig-sig. Fantastic owner and very cool guy. I loved the homemade soda and chicken wings. Pretty fabulous and a must try!

Price 2/5 Taste 5/5 Cleanliness 4/5 Menu 4/5 Service 4/5 This is in Grand Central market deep into downtown LA. Kind of annoying to get to but it's a great foodie spot. Their rice bowl is on the very pricey side for their portions. We got the pork belly rice bowl and it was absolutely delicious. Service was great like usual and the food was flavored great! I don't recommend this place if you are really hungry; I would say grab some food here after trying some of the other stuff in Grand Central market.

Two minor “gripes” out of the way then I’ll move on: 1) bigger portions please, or at least have the option for one (aka more garlic fried rice please); 2) more locations! Perhaps Eagle Rock or Highland Park?? I finally got to try this place out while serving jury duty downtown and it’s so so good and addictive (and apparently Jonathan Gold agrees). Having a Filipino joint with a foodie twist is just so fun and I honestly never thought I’d see it. I’ve only had the Sari Sari breakfast, the wonderful homemade spam silog and my favorite, calamansi soda but I’m already in love. The suka (spiced vinegar condiment) is a bit different from my mom’s but still delicious and absolutely essential for cutting the salty fat in some dishes and taking the flavor to another level. Each diner has three main condiments on the counter: fish sauce (Patis), the suka and sriracha (though I’d have probably swapped that out for either regular or spicy banana ketchup, more legit). Need to go back soon because I want to try it all: the arroz caldo, sisig fried rice, adobo rice bowl, avocado slushie (yes!!!) and of course, the buko pie! Sarap naman! Ps bonus points for the super cute and authentic Sari Sari store decor

Absolutely wonderful. First off, amazing service the guys were great and helpful. Had great conversations with the guys behind the bar throughout the meal. I ordered the Pinoy BBQ... now this dish is one of favorite meals. The flavors were spot on and wouldn’t change a thing. The ribs had a perfect char and the onions were the perfect compliment to the dish. I haven’t even got to the flawless perfectly cooked egg that accompanies the dish. I would give 10 stars.. thank you guys I will be back.

Walter and Margarita Manzke owners of Sari Sari Store were so brilliant in opening this joint in the center of Downtown LA. Perfect location! Same owner of one of our top 5 favorite restaurants in Los Angeles... République located in La Brea. I'm so proud of our kababayan Margarita and her talent and passion for food. The Pork Adobo fried rice was so delicious same taste like the one in République for brunch. The Lechon Manok and Breakfast sandwich was great as well. And the Calamansi soda was refreshing and the Buko Pie made our night. We will definitely go back for some more. Love this place

We turned on tv and watched a local show about this restaurant. Since we are out on vacation we thought, why not? The Filipino breakfast with eggs, longanisa and pan de sol was delicious. We also had the Pork fried rice bowl. Very generous portions. We also had the calamansi soda. Wonderful breakfast. Wish we had room for the other items on the menu. Can you have one of these up in San Jose, CA?

Best pan de sal! Filipino breakfast was great and calamansi soda so refreshing. You can request vinegar too!

Too pricey for breakfast. Was so disappointed traveling 25 miles just to try their breakfast when I could have a better breakfast at Seafood or Island Pacific market. First time I’ve seen a fried eggs over easy or sunny side up toasted, longganisa that tasted ground pepper and garlic fried rice with lots of green onions than garlic. They even charge 50 cents for condensed milk for your coffee. They do not have half a&half creamer for people with lactose issue. Staff should speak FILIPINO , AT LEAST!

Thanks to amazing reviews by Jonathan Gold, EaterLA and The Infatuation LA, we just had to go! Sari Sari Store lives up to the hype!!! We ordered almost everything on the menu and each item was impressive. The Tortang Talong (eggplant) is heavenly and Margarita Manzke’s Buko Pie (coconut custard) is absolute madness. #jonathangold #eaterla #sarisaristore #dondalao #republiquela

Glad there's now a nearby place where we can eat familiar and loved dishes - with a nice twist! Gourmet Pinoy food and I love it! Been there several times and will keep coming back! Just recently discovered their buko pie is so good! The best buko pie I've ever had! Definitely going to buy it every week!

Sari Sari Store’s Sisig Fried Rice Is equal to frying your rice with fresh leftover langgonisa dripping. So sinfully flavorful! Upon touching my lips, It immediately transported me 7,185 miles back home. If that doesn’t make you go try it, you’re missing a whole lot!

Ordered the arroz caldo but I also wanted the sisig bowl my husband ordered. Both are delicious! Then I bought the avocado shake and went to heaven. Will come back fo sho!

Best halo-halo I've ever had, and the buko pie is soooo good. Trying everything on the menu and so far my favorite is the Lechon Manok.

Strategically located at DTLA's Grand Central Market, this excellent spot where Filipino food not only rocks but soars...and is truly heavenly! Since this eatery is just across Angel's Flight, why not take a ride and go all the way and take flight with Filipino food in this City of Angels.

Adobo rice is my fave. And, the buko pie is beyond amazing.
