Review Wexler's Deli - Los Angeles

good times
Lox and bagels were very good, I’m not fond of rye bread so they put it on bun. The pastrami was all right. I prefer Tom’s burgers pastrami that’s fried and on a French roll. I won’t discount that I am not a pastrami connoisseur so this is just from a layman‘s perspective. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I enjoyed sitting at the bar. I did have to go buy a beer somewhere else because they don’t serve alcohol.

A little overpriced for what you get, even if it is the Grand Central Market. You do get a lot of meat in your sandwich or bagel, but 20$ for a sandwich is asking a lot. The flavors were there, the meats were there and the options were plentiful. They have a couple sides. The sandwiches can probably feed two people, they are packed with meat! I would go back just to try their bagels and maybe a breakfast sandwich.

Pros: Pickles are on point. Crisp and slightly tart The Vox bagel is wonderful. Nicee thin slices layered wonderfully over soft cream cheese. Potato salad, yeah it's good. I am a southern Texas native so ours is less salty and more Thicker of pieces, but this buttery new salty flavor injected into the potato salad is high-five worthy. Cons: price of downtown la. Other than that enjoy

Great place for a breakfast bagel inside of Grand Central Market. Quick service, quality food, and overall a cool atmosphere.

I knew that we could find great deli in Los Angeles. My wife and I shared the reuben. We took our first bites at the same time. Oh my god! It was so freaking good! The corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing all worked together in harmony. No part of the sandwich was overpowering the other parts. It was well worth the money. We were talking about that sandwich the whole drive home. Well done!

Outstanding! In the middle of a very busy market full of people is an island of great sandwiches. I had a great corned beef sandwich on rye. VERY tasty and a lot of corned beef. Service was quick and friendly. Compares favorably to the corned beef i had in Manhattan, New York City only two weeks previously. I will always visit Wexler's Deli whenever I am in LA.

I decided to get a pastrami sandwich from a joint called Wexler’s Deli, who were advertising themself as the best pastrami sandwich in LA. I was interested in this location because I saw them slicing smoked salmon this morning, and the LA weekly mention of best pastrami in LA had piqued my interest. I decided to get their OG pastrami sandwich. It comes with two slices of pickles (unfortunately packaged in a small plastic bag to go), coleslaw, and a fat meaty pastrami sandwich. The rye bread was fresh and tasty, the mustard was the right amounts of flavorful and sour, and the pastrami meat was beautifully tender and juicy. This really was a good sandwich, and it had me thinking about it for the rest of the day. I really wanted another.

Pretty decent food here - we struggled to find somewhere that we both wanted to eat and settled here for a sandwich n a coke!!! Fantastic food, it's made fresh right in front of you and the portions are very generous. Simple food in a fantastic environment....you can't go wrong.....👌

I love that this place is open early. This was my first visit. I've only had a few items here. My favorite is The Elaine bagel. So good!!! Crispy cucumber, chunky avocado, drizzled with some type of lemon vinegarette. It came with a nice potato salad and a yummy pickle slice. Yum!

So, I ordered the pastrami burger. Fantastic. Their pastrami is really good along with the quality of meat. Only thing is I wish I added more russian dressing. It came with an option of two sides, coleslaw and potatoes salad. I went with the coleslaw and unfortunately I didn’t favor it too well. If your looking for coleslaw similar to that infamous kfc taste, this is not it. The pickle somehow tasted “dry”, I don’t know how, but it wasn’t that great. Now, I say that to say, I did order a burger at a sandwich place so that’s my fault, but hey, the burger was fantastic. And I would get it again with no sides.

Not much like the other Jewish delis in town, Wexler's, a counter in Grand Central Market plays a mix of '90s hip-hop and the guy running the register is a youngster sporting Dodgers ware. He has it together and I believe he's been there for a while. I always order the Ruskie, an egg salad sandwich on a kaiser roll. Normally, I'm not one for sweet pickles, but those pickles fit perfectly in this petite sandwich. Deli sandwiches are usually stuffed and teetering, but this one won't murder you. It used to be a difficult decision as to where to eat at Grand Central with the burrito spots, vegan ramen, the old school pupusa place and whathaveyou, but now I always make a beeline for Wexler's.

Best pastrami sandwich ever. I visit the marketplace on occasion. Not real often because I find the prices are a little high. But this time I was surprised with a rare treat. I purchased a pastrami sandwich from Wexler’s, and it was the best one I’ve ever had. All the meat was hand, sliced, and I had it with the potato salad. The flavor was incomparable. It tasted like the meat had been smoked for hours. It was juicy and extremely tender. I’ve tried to make pastrami sandwiches at home, but I kind of gave up on it because the pastrami I purchased from stores always tends to be tough and chewy. This was just the opposite. It almost melted in my mouth. I don’t know about the rest of the sandwiches but I will definitely be going back. Although it will be hard to try something different after having a pastrami sandwich like this one. Great job Wexler ! I’m sorry I don’t have pictures to share but I was so preoccupied with this food, pictures never crossed my mind.

I’ve walked pass Wexler’s Deli for years but today I stopped. I ordered the Mikey’s Pastrami Sandwich which was fire! Thanks Geo for hooking it up with the side of jalapeños!

The Lox! Definitely worth it! Love Russ & Daughters but this open-faced lox does it for me. The bagel, amazing

NOT a Kosher deli. When searching for 'kosher' food this deli comes up. It is a kosher-style they say when asked. Food is great but NOT kosher at all

Holy Moses! Wexler's Macarthur Park (pastrami on rye) is amazing! Smokey flavor, rich taste, and perfected with acidity from coleslaw and Russian dressing. We moved from NYC this year and Wexler's makes us feel at home.

Nice breakfast, a little more salmon on the bagels would have given them the 5 stars. Hopefully next time
