Great experience with this place. I'd definitely come back if ever back in Little Tokyo. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and it was excellent. The broth had a terrific flavor and it was just spicy enough. The meat in it had great texture also. The noodles were nice and thick and absorbed all of the flavor quite well. While I don't eat Ramon a whole lot, this was some of the best that I've ever had. Overall, this place gets a thumbs up 👍 👍

The gyoza was excellent. The beef udon noodles were very good. The service wasn’t the best, but very friendly.

Came in as we saw the Happy Hour Poster on front of the door. Was not disappointed and enjoyed the experience very much. Under 5$ drafts of Japenese Beer - what is not to love. The cocktails were very sugary, and alcohol (which I would assume is sake or sochu) was not that high in volume compared to mixer. Try the Sparkling Jelly Sake - was first-time trying - and it was very weird but very pleasant! Good snacks/appetizers/desserts, too. Tasty and fresh. Service was a bit slow, but all staff was nice, so the experience was still great.

It’s one of the late open (after 10pm) restaurants in little Tokyo. So we chose this one for the dinner after our show. A little busy in that hour but luckily we got the table very fast. The menu is big and a lot of choices. The waiter was very nice and friendly. We ordered the special don with spicy tuna and miso ramen. TBH the special don is a little boring (the tuna is literally plain raw fish not spicy and the whole bowl is a little too HEALTHY (aka no flavours 🫠) the noodles were good enough.

Loved this place! I got the hamburg steak, mashed potatoes, and green tea ice cream. All were excellent. The staff there were so friendly it made the experience even better. Definitely stop by!

Oh how I wish Portland had a place like this that was open late. This casual late night Izakaya was exactly what I needed at the end of my night. The sushi, onigiri, and natto were delicious and the tea hit the spot as well! I will probably be back before going back to Portland at the end of this week. Update: went back a second time. My experience was even better than the first. I had a ramen and ikura Don combo that couldn’t be beat!

The food was kinda salty. The same seemed expensive compared to the prices of everything else. The menu is large, but not unwieldy. They had a little bit of almost everything. The staff was nice. As far as dates, this is not the place you bring someone to wow them; this is a place you bring the people that already close to your heart. Good friends, long time lovers, family, the vibes feel like home.

Two sisters - Junko and Yuriko - opened Suehiro Cafe in 1972, making it one of the oldest establishments in Little Tokyo. Their 2nd street location has some modern seating but still pays homage to that history. My food tour - Big Eats in Little Tokyo on Airbnb - doesn't include this place but I always point it out as a solid cafe with quite possibly the best happy hour in LT. How could you possibly go wrong with $3.50 Kirin / Sapporo, $3 sake, $3.50 plum wine, and $5 small plates? Definitely go here - it doesn't disappoint, it’s definitely for the culture, and the vibe is always right.
