Review Cindy's Eagle Rock - Los Angeles

Cindy's is a good place to stop by when you want great atmosphere, an adequate menu, and a bit of nostalgia. While the food was good, at times it felt like it needed just a tad bit more salt. The menu items are good (a bit pricy) and the service is fast. I had the McBreakfast sandwich (hope Ronald isn't watching). It was good and messy, but again needed a little bit more salt and I was hoping the pork belly was bigger and crisper. Coffee was my drink of choice and I would say that it was enjoyable. Overall, I would stop here again.

Cindy’s is a great classic LA diner, with an updated and elevated menu. Friendly staff. The shrimp and grits are about as good as you can get outside of the south. And the pies are excellent.

The food is great and always fresh. BUT, there’s always a wait, and the portion sizes are a bit small. Also, they charged extra for the potatoes to be well done. Kinda unusual.

A MUST Nostalgic experience! We will definitely come back to try more of the menu items! The personnel's amazing and warm, and we ended up getting two desserts and stayed a bit longer than usual. The FRIED CHICKEN and REUBEN SANDWICH (lunch items) are to die for.

If you’re craving a salad I can’t recommend the smoked mushroom salad more. It was probably the best salad I have ever had. And it was huge. The diner is such a fun vibe.

Looking for steak we found Cindy’s! They do NOT offer steak but they offer amazing home-made food in an amazing retro atmosphere. We had creole tomato soup, meatloaf, veggie burger and Cindy’s burger. All of these options were absolutely light to the palate and delicious. We had space for the Dutch apple, peach cobbler and banana meringue pie, better than house of pies! I’ve recommended this place to 3 people already and we had supper only yesterday!

I really liked the old school feel here! The menu was different...not alot of traditional Breakfast choices..everything had a little twist to it... we got the most basic Breakfast we could find on the menu. I got the Bacon Cheddar Omlet which was huge and delicious. Husband got the Noah's Ark which was a mix of items and it was NOT worth it... the portions were small and he was really disappointed. ALSO... don't get orange juice.. So upset with how small the serving of Orange juice was in a tiny little plastic cup. And it was overpriced and they do not come back for refills for coffee or juice. Yes the food was good but not worth the price in the end.

We got the fried mushroom on top a waffle and omg it was so good! The staff was also very welcoming and knowledgeable about the food. They made great recommendations. We will definitely be back soon!!

Old-time diner feel. Expect a bit of a wait. Ordered the regular eggs Benedict, but they made a mistake and substituted salmon for Canadian bacon. They were eager to make it right and redo it, but I kept it for the same price. It was good. Others had waffles and eggs over easy.

Dropped In on a Thursday afternoon around 1:30 for a late lunch. Free parking in their lot was plentiful at the time. My partner ordered the po boy, and I ordered the BBQ burger, and we were going to share a side of sweet potato fries. Service was quick.. we had all the food served within 10 minutes. Food was hot and fresh (although the poboy was served on sourdough bread instead of a roll) and fries were crisp and seasoned well. My burger was delightful (juicy and flavorful), and I inhaled it quickly. We were out if there in record time (less than 45 minutes). The menu is huge and I will be back!

Eaten here many times, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and enjoyed every single meal. Great food, good service, fun vibe. Be ready to find it crowded during the weekend brunch time but it’s never that bad. Bathrooms are in a weird little outhouse… seems weird but I’ve honestly never used them.

Really good diner, with a manageable menu of great tasting dishes, in a cosy space with friendly and helpful staff. All of the food was very tasty, and the short wait for a table was well worth it. Prices were reasonable too, and the portions were of a good size.

Seated immediately, booths and corner tables, diner. Hamburger Specials and desserts written on board overhead. Very interesting food combinations that sound weird but somehow work together to compliment the taste. The pies are fantastic and very generous slices of cake , chocolate or carrot cake. Bit of trivia: Justin Timberlake made video there for Trolls " Can't Stop the Feeling" Always visit when I visit family here in Eagle Rock. A few items change on menu, but some are always there.

This place looks like an old school diner! The people were very nice and friendly. Had some of their pies and they were delicious. It was a full house when I went in and I could see why. Would definitely come to eat here and have some good times.

I grew up in this area and saw Cindy’s go through about 1 million management changes, 1 million robberies, 1 million indie movie film shoots for projects that never saw the light of day. This restaurant has had 1 million eras in the past, and I gotta say this era is not bad. I got fried chicken and gravy with eggs and potatoes, a little bit of hot sauce on top it was perfect. Thanks Cindy’s.

Don’t pass by this golden gem in eagle rock, definitely best place to eat anything hands down, I tried many of their items and by far none have disappointed, staff is amazing and atmosphere is impeccable, thank you Cindy’s for always coming through with good food!

For starters my club sandwich was made with their mustard relish which would of been ok but it was made with the end core piece of the tomato, my friends Ruben was so dry I almost couldn't swallow it. thinking it would be amazing by the looks of it We took a piece of the towering chocolate cake to go, got to our hotel room went to have dessert that night and this damg 5 or 8 layer cake was so damn dry we didn't even want to eat it... total waste of money on the entire meal.

I just loved this place. Sat at the bar, it was a hopping spot for parents and kids on a Saturday night! I was in the mood for comfort food so had the grilled cheese on yummy sourdough bread with tomato basil soup. The soup was delicious and thick. The sandwich was gooey and soft, and even came with a salad of spring greens. Perfect. Took home a piece of lemon curd pie. My waitress was super friendly and efficient. Great experience! Breakfast menu looks yummy, but it’s not served all day. Guess I’ll just have to go back!

Live in the neighborhood. Been here a couple of times, but will never come back. Couple of Bullet Points Slow Saturday Afternoon (June 2, 2018) Not Busy When We Came In Placed an order with a tatted blonde waitress (Lemonade; Spaghetti and Meatballs; Egg Sandwich) 45 minutes go by; no food Other patrons get their orders completed Ask about of our meal with the waitress She became defensive and claimed that she did not take our order. My suggestions.. Management supervision might help to prevent negative customer experiences. An evaluation of how orders are taken and followed-up is suggested. Training with waitstaff on checking in with patron should be taught.

This is a gourmet diner and you’ll never have a bad meal here. Very delicious upscale twists on everyday breakfast, lunch and dinner fare.

Lovely place! Good food! Friendly staff! One star off for the bizarrely named "The Good German" sandwich. :^D

Neighborhood joint feel. Delicious food with that homemade touch. Lemon pie made with a cracker crust that is to die for. Waiters that a sweet, funny and intuitive. Great tunes too. ❤️

Excellent food! I loved the Reuben; great spin in the classic. You have to try the pies, too. This place is great!

Finally, a place in Los Angeles that makes proper southern grits. Thank you for the quick service and deliciously thick bacon.

Great coffee shop with good breakfast! My dad and I were visiting my sister who lives in LA and we all had lunch here before we flew back to St. Louis that evening

A little too LA hipster for me. Not super friendly staff. Food was great.

Been driving by this place for years, only tried it for the first time a month ago. Been back twice, quickly becoming one of my regular destinations.

I live 10 houses up on Loleta Ave. from Cindy's., this place is always packed. Been in several times, The pies are my favorite.

I stopped in last night, but got there about 10 minutes after they closed. I totally understand that, but what I don't understand is why the outside sign was lit up as if they were still open and why the 'open' sign was still turned on. When I asked why the sign was still on, the server admitted that she was too lazy to reach under the sign and turn it off. With an attitude like that, it is unlikely I will ever patronize Cindy's.

Total surprise of the quality of the food. A well balanced mix of southern style cooking with a flare of LA.
